Timeline: Current Previous Threads: Na Characters Involved: Captain ColdLocation: Lowkey bar Death by ice cream. Had to happen someday. Oh, man. It had been such a new experience being in this new world. Things were not as good as they were back home, yet back home all she could wonder about who Ollie was sleeping with next, and if Sin and Mia were getting the care they needed. Oliver was a good father figure at times but she often worried about those he watched. Thankfully there was a bar not too far from the newly opened Sherwood Florist. A place in which Dinah loved dearly, it was one of the only pieces of home she really had. She was grateful to hear that Roy and Lian had been on this earth and that they had found each other. She heard rumors about some of the others being here too. She would have to send out a message to her fellow Justice League members to make sure they were all okay and seeing if they needed any help or just wanted to talk. Dinah knew all about needing to vent, she was one of the councilors for the younger team members. After shutting down the business and watering the flowers one last time Dinah grabbed her leather jacket and walked the couple blocks to the bar. Walking in she got a few stares which she was used to by now. Everyone seemed to love blondes in leather, hell even Dinah had a thing for blondes in leather. The woman walked up to the bar and smiled at the bartender. "Can I get four horsemen please." The bartender nodded and Dinah set down her new bank card. "Keep it on my tab." She watched as the bartender did what he does best and make drinks and handed her both her drink and took her card. Dinah took a seat as she took a big drink out of her glass. It didn't take long for someone to walk up to her, she turned and faced them. They were pretty wasted and they thought they had a chance to take the woman home. She instead sighed and shooed them off. Thankfully it didn't take to much of her using her 'there isn't a chance in hell' voice. She really missed Gotham and Star City, those bars she knew no one would really mess with her unless they really wanted a butt kicking or just to get some advice. Which Dinah wasn't afraid to give out either.

"Leonard Snart! Robber of ATMs!"
|
Post by Captain Cold on Dec 28, 2017 22:43:15 GMT
Leonard Snart always considered himself a man who could roll with any punches given to him, and often that was very true. Being in his "career" certainly required that as you never knew when you were going to walk away with your prize and not face the police or the Flash or some other vigilante. His preparedness and ability to expect the unexpected had kept him in charge of his Rogues and out of prison on a regular basis.
This, however, was different. He'd not expected he'd find himself on another Earth out of the blue, and wouldn't you know it, he wasn't alone. People from his Earth he was familiar with like Red Hood had taken up residence in Hell's Kitchen, and apparently even the big bad Batman and the blue boyscout were around as well.
No sign of the Flash, though. Snart wasn't sure how he felt about that, maybe melancholy. Like he should be glad the Flash wasn't around to get in his way, but also disappointment and knowing if Flash wasn't going to be around to play, another vigilante would be, one with no regard for the game and thus undeserving of Snart's respect that the thief would cut down without a second thought.
This mixture of thoughts and rare bout of uncertainty made Leonard crave a drink. He didn't use alcohol to escape his problems, for he was not his father, but it did serve to give him that chance to calm his nerves and gather his thoughts better, and asking around(and lifting cash from a few wallets) had gotten him to this lowkey establishment he now stood before. Not bad upon entry, reminded him of the 4th Avenue bar he and his Rogues would hang out at when they weren't committing crimes and just wanted to hang out for a round of pool or to watch the games. Walking past several of the patrons, he took notice of a blonde in leather sitting by herself, and barely hid his amusement as she shooed away some sloppy beta loser who either had the worst game or too much to drink. With the predicament he'd found himself in, he elected not to let his skills go to waste till he decided what his next course of action would be.
Strolling over to the bar table he took the bartender's attention first. "Jack, leave the bottle." he stated, the bartender leaving a JD bottle and glass for him as he turned his attention to the blonde and recognition hit now that he saw her up close. "Miss Lance, not the first person I was hoping to run into..."
Cold let her respond as he turned his barstool to face her, his hand resting on his knee though it was more to keep it in a position he could easily grab his Cold Gun if a fight was about to happen, though his relaxed posture would make it clear he wasn't here to start anything. "So, what brings the blonde bombshell herself to this... establishment?" he asked, giving a glance at the seedy scenery before looking back at his unexpected companion.

Death by ice cream. Had to happen someday. Oh, man. Dinah turned to look at Snart. She could tell that he wasn't here to fight. Part of her was relieved to see a familiar face, the other part was disappointed. Not because it was Captian Cold, but because he too was taken from his world and taken from his sister and well Dinah wasn't really one for seeing families torn apart. She knew Lisa missed him, she herself had run into her short time after he disappeared. Dinah was helping the Flash with an issue and well Lisa was in the middle of it. At least he was okay and not dead somewhere. "The feeling is mutual but thankfully you weren't my first." She spoke with a smirk. Taking another drink from her glass and setting it down she chuckled a bit. "Well, this bombshell just came here for a drink. Less likely to run into trouble here. Harleys place just isn't my type. I'm more of a local neighborhood bar. Less likely to run into trouble." She motioned to the bartender for a refill. "How about you Snart? What brings you to this neck of the woods. I'd assume you would be at Harleys club. Darker type people there, more villain types." She joked about, She had scoped out Harleys club, and that place didn't sit right with her. She was hoping to stay away from it for as long as she could. As she knew she couldn't take it down on her own. She would need a team of at least three others. Once the Bartender filled her drink again she thanked him and turned back to snart.

Snart was no mind-reader, so he chalked up Dinah's disappointment to the obvious. Not that it bothered him, he was a career criminal and she was a vigilante so any idiot familiar with the two would normally see where they stood with eachother. Still, he'd had a few friendlier moments with the Flash when he wasn't trying to kill him, and he didn't have any problems with Black Canary so here they still were without fists or weapons drawn. Snart responded to her comment and smirk with one of his own practically trademark ones. "Pity," he said in his usual snarky tone before taking a shot of his drink, confident now that a fight was not going to happen any time soon and they could enjoy their drinks like two civilized people.
He cocked his head a little as Black Canary made mention of Harley's new place. "Riiiight, heard about that little hovel. Sounded a bit too... noisy for my tastes when all I want's a drink," he replied. Maybe if none of his Rogues showed up in this world and he needed to rent some backup for a heist later down the road he'd check up on her, but otherwise the less he had to do with the Joker and his ilk the better. If he wanted to be in the company of clowns he'd have taken up more of Jesse's offers to hang out.
Snart took another shot of his drink and looked over at Dinah again. "Interesting I don't see Robin Hood about..." he mused. "And how have you and his merry men been?"

Dinah laughed a little as he brought up Oliver. They were okay before she left, but she knew Oliver. She knew him better than anyone. Which in that she figured Oliver was already sleeping with other women.
He isnt here. Red Arrow is here as is Speedy but Greem Arrow is still back home. The idea of oliver sleeping with others angered her. It was clear on her face."Besides hes probably sleeping around with younger women. Just hope he takes care of Sin." With that dinah took a long sip of her drink.
"What about you Snart? Any of your friends i need to worry about?" She looked the man in the eyes. They were different from what she remembered, these ones were not like the cold from her world. He was different. That alone peaked her inrerest.
Dinah downed the last of her drink and switched to water she knew how ro handle her alchol and also knew she needes ro stay hydrated. So when she got her water she squeased the lemon in the liquid and put the glass to her lips and let the cold liquid drain into hee mouth. Once she was done she set the glass on the table.

Snart raised an eyebrow at Canary's comment about Green Arrow sleeping with other, younger women. So he was that kind of guy, huh? Somehow the Rogue was not surprised. Guys who had it all always seemed to take everything for granted, didn't they? True, Snart was an unrepentant career criminal and professional thief, but he didn't cheat on the women he'd dated(rare as those occurrences were. A man had his needs but he also had a lot of other things to put his time and energy into), he had his standards, after all.
"Cheat on a woman of your skills and good looks? He'd have to be a idiot," Snart replied bluntly, giving her a glance-over as he did. He wasn't above noting that Black Canary was a very beautiful woman. Very strong, too, and clearly devoted if she put up with long enough to sound as weary as she did about it. Perhaps too devoted. He could feel whatever respect he had for the emerald archer drop a little. "As I've had to tell my sister whenever she got a new boyfriend: You deserve better."
When she asked about if any of his "friends" were around, Snart simply gave his usual snide smirk and a slight cock of his head. "Wouldn't you like to know," he said. "Planning to apprehend me if I don't have Mick or Scudder or Jesse waiting outside? I haven't done anything," he teased. Not that he felt especially threatened, even if she did something he technically hadn't committed any crimes on this Earth to be booked for, and even if he was put away he'd done more prison breaks then he could remember to the point he saw prison as mostly an inconvenience. "Haven't seen them either."

Death by ice cream. Had to happen someday. Oh, man. Dinah was surprised at his response, but she did let out a small laugh at it. "The biggest one I know." She responded in return. Oliver was not the brightest tool in the shed when it came to relationships. She herself wasn't even sure why she kept trying, but perhaps that was just the Queen charm, always able to flash that smile and use some smart words to bring her back to his side. Plus Dinah did enjoy his team, they all had such drive. She did hide a small blush as he said that she deserved better, it also caused a smirk on her face. As responded with the 'wouldn't you like to know.' she huffed out a sigh and when he spoke about apprehending him she looked at him "Wouldn't you like to know." She smiled a bit. This little back n' forth was actually quite entertaining. "That's both good and bad. Bad that you're alone in this crazy world, good that they haven't left our world behind yet." She started drinking a sip of her water. "I'm surprised though, normally the League would have found a way back for everyone, but I can't seem to find any of them. Even though I know they are here. Batman, Wonder Woman, even Superman. Who knows maybe everyone is just screwed into being in this hell hole." Dinah looked at Snart. "So any plans in this world? Going to stay the ol bad guy Flash chases around, or I guess it would be me chasing you down for a while, until he gets here, or do you plan on turning a new leaf and making something good out of this whole situation."

Snart's smirk spread to a grin when Canary turned his own words back at him. "Touche, Miss Lance."
"All a matter of perspective," he said in response to the good and bad scenario that Canary spelt out. Obviously their viewpoint on what was good and what was bad for them would have been the opposite. Snart was unfamiliar with this Earth and while he didn't doubt his skills, he operated even better when he had his Rogues, as then they were truly a force to be reckoned with. Without them, he was a thief with a fancy gun. A very damn good thief, but not someone who could carve a huge sphere of influence in the underworld. He listened as she talked about the League members, a little disappointed the Flash was not mentioned out of them and confirming his suspicions as it would have been likely she'd have known if he was here or not; the guy was a bit of a show-off after all considering he had a whole museum made in his name back home.
She asked what he planned to do, and quite honestly, Snart was still working on that. He'd kept a cool head as ever about his predicament but without his Rogues he was somewhat more vulnerable to the authorities. There was still the chance some of them had turned up. Mick. Lisa. Scudder. Mardon. He'd even take Digger or Jesse. He'd find a way to reach out to them, they always knew where to look on the occasions they did break out of prison and need to reassemble he'd find a way to make it happen here. "I am what I am, Miss Lance, but I guess time will tell, won't it?" He poured himself another glass and drank it down. "Though I can't say I'd entirely mind you chasing me... Until then why don't we continue enjoying our little truce?"

Death by ice cream. Had to happen someday. Oh, man “ "It never hurts to hope that one day you will put that brain of yours to work on our side or at least to do some good." She smiled a bit knowing that he would probably always be Captian Cold and he would be waiting for someone to chase him around just like the others did. It was an addicting game, no matter what side you were on. So she could never blame those on the opposite side, wearing the costumes, fighting the fights, the action the rewards, all of it was something the human loved and was something no one could give up cold turkey, even if they did, they would get caught back in it eventually. "I don't plan on breaking that truce Snart, just making small talk." She took a drink of her water. "Besides I would really hate to not have a drinking buddy in this part of town." She finished off her Water and ordered another Alcoholic Drink. She took a drink of it and it went down smoothly, just like she knew it would. She looked at her drink, letting everything sink in. How did they end up here, would they ever get back, would Oliver show up? Would it even be her Oliver? She didn't know, for once the Black Canary didn't know what she was doing, winging it every day and night, but never once did she let those emotions cross her face. While they might be in a good area, Dinah didn't need Snart knowing any of her emotions. ” notes I know its the wrong Canary but I still love watching this video and seeing Snart it just fits so well!!.

Snart smirked dryly again at Canary's assertion that she held out hope he'd turn over a new leaf. "There are some who'd say anything's possible, but I wouldn't hold your breath." he replied. It wasn't the first time he'd heard that spiel, given the Flash usually made an effort and demonstrated a confident opinion that Snart could do better with his life, even be a hero if he wanted to, but Snart knew what he was good at. His father trained him as a child because there were situations that required a smaller person and smaller hands when it came to breaking and entering. Then he found himself needing to put those skills to use again when his father ended up in Iron Heights so he could support Lisa. True, under different circumstances and a different life where they still had their mother and their father remained out of it, he and Lisa could have gone a different path, but they were what they were.
"Likewise," Snart replied to Canary's next statement. "I may be a cold-hearted bastard, but I'm a cold-hearted bastard with ethics." Sure, some criminals were stupid enough to think it made him soft, made him weak, but every last one of them found out the hard way just how wrong that assumption was. Snart was a successful thief and leader of the Rogues and he believed in leadership by example, as well as leadership by making an example of anyone who defied him. Truth be told Snart had his own... concerns. Lisa was a big girl and he made damn sure raising her that she could take care of herself, and they traded barbs on a regular basis, but he still worried about her, as any decent big brother would. Having spent his whole life learning to conceal his emotions, he too, kept a steely poker face as he took another shot of his drink amidst the awkward silence between them.

Death by ice cream. Had to happen someday. Oh, man “ "Now that is one thing I really like about you Snart. Your not insane like some of the others are. Which is always a nice change." She spoke as she looked over the food menu, she was indeed starting to get hungry. "Snart you want any food? I'm starving and since we are playing friends tonight might as well offer some food." She smiled brightly at Snart, it wasn't a fake smile that she would normally put on, it was one that she truly meant. Dinah then ordered some food and a refill on her drink. Though she found herself approached once more by a drunk guy who wanted some booty from her. Dinah let out a sigh of annoyance. "You guys never learn." She muttered under her breath before looking at the drunk man. "Look, your not my type." She spoke to the man who rolled his eyes. "I've been seeing you drink sweetie, I'll be your type tonight no matter what." He scoffed at her and Dinah pulled him in by the collar of his shirt. "Look creep, I'm no easy songbird. It takes a lot more than a couple of drinks to get me to sleep with just anyone. And still, I wouldn't take you home if you were the last piece of meat in this joint, the man next to me has a better shot of going home with me then you ever will. So get lost before I break your eardrums." She then pushed him away and turned back to Snart. "Do you ever get these problems with girls?" She asked in a more annoyed tone. ”

Snart grinned when Dinah offered to order some food to share. He was hungry, but he also had his dignity. "Why not? Maybe this place has something worthwhile. Surprise me," he said. So far the place was far from the worst, he might even come back sometime if in the area as the alcohol was at least acceptable.
He leaned back and watched as some drunk moron tried to proposition Dinah. Sure Snart was more then capable of curb-stomping this lowlife having spent more then enough time in prison to learn how to handle idiots bigger then himself, but if Dinah was expecting some brazen white knight she was in for disappointment. Plus he knew she could handle it herself and he just didn't care enough to intervene anyway. Sure enough, Dinah got the idiot to leave and she asked about if he had this sort of problem with girls.
"Me?" Leonard smirked again. "I do get propositioned every once in a while when I take a little downtime. Were you hoping you had a shot, Miss Lance?" he teased. Of course he had been, though he often took up the offers he was given unless he was busy planning his next heist. Like any decent thief he had stolen many a heart and broken just as many. It was just who he was and he rarely was the type for attachments.

Death by ice cream. Had to happen someday. Oh, man “ Dinah nodded and ordered a couple of appetizers. She was one of those girls who didn't care if a guy saw her eat food, hell she would probably eat just as much as her male partner did. Except for the speedsters, they could out eat anyone and Dinah wouldn't stand a chance, but since she was a regular of Oliver's chili she could eat most anything and everything without getting sick. "Only in your dreams Snart." She replied when he wondered if she was hoping for a shot with him, perhaps in a different life she would have considered it, but he was a bad guy and she was a good girl for the most part. If he was a good guy by the law then maybe she would pursue him more then just a few flirts and small talk, or if she was a bad girl who would steal his heart. None of that was going to happen, they were from two different worlds but it never hurt to flirt. After all, it was fun to just be a regular civilian for once, even if she wasn't a fan of civilian work. It wasn't long before Dinah was tapping her feet to the music on the radio. If there was one thing about the Lance sisters, it was that they loved dancing and music. The music seemed to move its way up her body to her hips and they swayed to the beat of the music. Dinah was glad that this world had a good chunk of the same music they had on her world, granted some of it was sung by different people but it was all still pretty good. ”

"Of course you'd say that," Snart replied with an amused smirk. He didn't exactly proposition her so much as ask if she was propositioning him. But that was how the do-gooders were, weren't they? The last person to make him change anything about himself was the Flash, who got him and the Rogues to follow a (somewhat flexible) no killing rule, but it appealed to his ego that he could accomplish his crimes without a body count. Plus, killing lawmen and capes for any reasons outside of pure self defense put you at the top of the hit lists of both.
The music started and it was clearly putting Dinah in a mood. He watched her a moment as he took another drink. He was just as capable of appreciating a shapely female form as much as the next man and it certainly was giving the vibe of an invitation. "Go on, I'll watch," he said, smirk still in place and turning his barstool so he could enjoy the show. He might change his mind partway in, but he wasn't about to let Black Canary think he was that easy to reel in for even a friendly dance.

Dinah shrugged as she walked over to the dance floor and danced on her own. She let the music and the alcohol take her worries away for the time being. She let the fact that Oliver was probably in her world replacing her as she swayed. She let the fact that Sin and Mia were probably looking for her fade with every head movement. She had to let that world go, she wasn't sure she would ever see it again so there was no point in worrying about it anymore right? Her body moved perfectly in rhythm to the music, she might be older then most of the younger women in the bar but she could move her body better than most of them. That was due to a lifetime of flexibility, jumping from building to building, keeping in shape during the cold months instead of just being a couch potato. Every once in a while she would flash Snart a smile, knowing full and well where his eyes were. While she didn't mind the innocent flirting between the two as no one was around to really say anything, even if they were Dinah would just laugh it off anyway. As It was just what it looked like. Innocent flirting between two adults from different sides of the spectrum. Captain Cold
