ORIGINAL CHARACTER RULES
- Due to the unique setting of WIO, only canon DC/Marvel characters come from their respective universes. OC's however, are native to New Earth. For more information on what this means for OC's and their history, please read about the setting HERE.
- There are some character types that are prohibited for original characters. They are:
- Original characters who are not human. Metahuman/mutant is fine, but your character cannot be from another planet. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Martians
- Kryptonians
- Zen-Whoberi
- Original alien races
- Characters related to an existing canon character. You cannot just automagically give Captain America a litter of kids he didn't know about.
- Original Lantern Corps members.
- Original characters part of a pre-existing team. You cannot be a mutant that's also part of the X-Men right out the bat. If you wish to join these teams, a recruitment thread is required.
- Characters with insanely powerful abilities. If you can go toe-to-toe with Superman or Thanos, you'll have to tone it down a bit. Your OC cannot surpass a canon character of similar abilities. I.E. you cannot be stronger than Superman or faster than Flash. Dick-measuring contests will not be tolerated.
- Reality-warpers.
- Mary Sues/Gary Stus. If you do not know what these are, please ask an admin for clarification.
- Characters that are blatant expies of pre-existing characters from an unrelated universe. Dante is cool, I like him too, but try this and the character will be denied automatically.
- Character types that are not banned but will be very closely monitored and may have a cap put on them if we get enough include:
- Magic users
- Reality warpers
- Twins etc.
- Psionic/Psychic
- Cybernetic augmentations
- Original characters are only allowed to have one power. However, multiple subsets and various applications of that power are permissible. Think creatively of how your character uses their power!
- All OCs must be native to the New Earth. It's strongly advised to detail how they have hidden and/or used their powers to go undetected in the unfriendly world they live in.
- Please try to make the original in 'original character' live up to its meaning!
