War Machine- by far my favorite Iron Man character (I like him even more than Tony himself) Rhodey is Stark's friend, confidante, and partner in heavy metal ass kickery. Movie or comic version I don't care, but gimme my Rhodey before I have to app him myself!
Pepper Potts/Rescue- I admit, I can take or leave the MCU version of the character but in the comics I find Pepper to be a terrific addition to Iron Man's cast. Whether as the CEO of his company, his personal assistant, or an armored hero in her own right she could potentially help prevent Tony from going off the rails.
Maria Hill- Though she is an important character within the world of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers in general, Hill has in recent years become a semi-regular Iron Man cast member in the comics. In the movies she went from Fury's right hand to working for Stark (likely as a mole for Nick Fury) but in both cases they have worked together. She's either the tough as nails agent from the movies or the woman you love to hate from the comics, but I do like Maria enough that while I'd prefer the MCU version I'll take what I can get.
The Mandarin- Though the movies tried messing with the character due to perceived cultural insensitivity, I like the comic version. With his martial arts skills, alien/magic rings, and general hatred of Tony he is as close as Iron Man gets to an archenemy. Plus it evokes the classic East vs West, mysticism vs science conflict.
Ezekiel Stane/Iron Monger II- The son of the original Iron Monger Obadiah Stane, Zeke is Stark's worst nightmare. Younger, smarter, and deadlier than he is Tony faces something he's always dreaded: being obsolete. Not just his tech, but as a man. He challenges his very identity and to me that is fascinating.
