NEBULA
Real Name: (Birth Name Unknown) Nebula
Alias: Nebula.
Identity: Public
Age: 23
Species: Luphmoid/Cyborg
Physical Appearance: In physical frame, Nebula is no different than any human female. The difference lies in the combination of Luphmoid origins and Cyborg enhancements. Her lean, athletic frame is an unfortunate patchwork of flesh and metal. She has no hair due to the augmentations that were done to her, but retains the black pupil and iris of her species. One can see hints of her original self with the natural blue color of her skin. Color with the augments is not consistent, as parts vary from shades of grey, and a little purple.
Personality: Nebula is a stubborn woman, who often projects a state of confidence. The woman distances herself from others by acting as if she dislikes most things, but has a tendency to remain despite that displeasure. Nebula is quick to anger when sensitive issues are brought to light, mostly regarding her big sister Gamora, who Nebula feels is responsible for a healthy share of her suffering. She is emotionally guarded, and therefore reluctant to display most positive expressions. She is capable of letting her walls down, though it takes a bit of work for her to trust someone enough to do so.
Powers: Cybernetic Augmentations.
Regeneration/Repair : When injured, the machinery within her body will work to snap her back into proper form. This is reactive to damage received by a variety of sources. Nebula's body will repair her in most instances, even when the effect should be her death. This is limited to things that physically effect her body. Crushing, Blunt force, Blasts, to name a few. Nebula can not re-grow a limb or part that has been removed. That requires new parts and assembly.
Endurance, Strength, and Enhanced Agility : The efforts Thanos took to make Nebula a match for Gamora lead to augmentations that increase speed, agility, Strength and durability.
Abilities: Expert Pilot : Capable of piloting most ships, though is most familiar with smaller types with fighter capability.
Master Assassin : Nebula spent most of her life being trained by Thanos to become an Assassin. Additional training was handled by Ronin, who Thanos had lent her out to during their partnership.
Expert Fighter : Her childhood was spent having battles against her adoptive sister, Gamora. The pair were made to fight each other on a regular basis, with neither being allowed to hold back.
Weapons/Equipment: Her primary weapon is a pair of Electro-Shock batons, that can be combined to make an Electro-Shock staff.
History: Nebula was taken from her home world after an invasion by the Warlord Thanos. Thanos took her as his daughter, and gave her a new sister in Gamora. Things wouldn't be pleasant for her, as Thanos began her combat training at an early age. Nebula was forced to fight against her new adoptive sister for the sake of growing stronger with her. Despite her every effort, Gamora would win each and every time. Thanos wanted to make Nebula able to match and even beat Gamora, so when Nebula would lose to her sister, he would replace a part of her with a cybernetic enhancement. Nebula gained a resentment for Gamora, as her big sister never once allowed her to win. Not once sparing her from the operating table. Thanos himself earned a higher place of hatred in her heart. It was a hate that fueled her in her training and the undertaking of missions.
Later on, Nebula and Gamora were loaned to Ronin the Accuser in his quest to locate an orb and gain power. During this time, Nebula gained more resentment for her sister, as both Ronin and Thanos favored Gamora over her in all aspects. Thanos often said Gamora was his favorite while Nebula was standing beside her. Her sister had been chosen over her to retrieve an orb that both Thanos and Ronin wanted, only Gamora abandoned her (in her point of view) to team up with a group who would become known as the Guardians of the Galaxy. When Ronin received the power of the orb, he announced his plans to kill Thanos. Nebula, seeing hope in seeing her tormentor dead pledged to help Ronin destroy many worlds, if just to see Thanos dead. During a battle with the Guardians, Gamora offered Nebula to fight by her side, but the old wounds still bled, and while her hand was impaled and she was left hanging, Nebula decided to cut off her own hand, rather than giving in to her big sister.
Nebula made her own way for a long while before being captured and arrested, only to have Gamora and friends come to collect her as their prisoner. Likely to drop her off for some kind of bounty. On that journey, the Guardians ship got into a scuffle and crashed on a planet. Nebula remained in custody until an opportunity presented itself. While Rocket was dealing with Ravagers, Nebula managed to obtain a blaster from a knocked out Ravager and fire a shot that would destroy Yondu's fin, leaving him broken. Nebula briefly joined the Ravagers long enough to get her hands on a ship. She was going to hunt down her sister and make her feel all the pain she has for all her life. Nebula catches up with Gamora on Ego's world and the sisters battle one another yet again. This time, however circumstances got the girls to fight side by side, Nebula even saving Gamora during the battle. Once the dust settled, the sisters had a talk. Gamora showed that she wanted Nebula to stay, and even hugged her, but Nebula was still hurting and unsure. Nebula left to peruse her goal of killing Thanos, no longer having the urge to kill Gamora.
To Be Continued.
Weaknesses: Try as she might, Nebula was never strong enough to defeat Gamora in combat. Never could she match her strength or speed or talent, leaving behind a bitterness, as Nebula felt that Gamora letting her win just one time would have saved her. Her pain and fear drives her in directions that aren't the best. Her mind and heart conflict with each other. She just wants to have a sister, but at the same time she can't shake being made to feel inferior to Gamora. She wishes to stop, but is too scared of what may happen if she did. As long as Thanos is out there, Nebula may never know what it's like to have peace in her heart.
