Welcome to the X-Men Academy, or as the humans like to call it the School for gifted youngsters.

Regarded as urban legends on the level of Sasquatch or the Loch Ness Monster, mutants have lived among humans for years. Keeping to the shadows, their numbers began to grow all over the world. Anyone could be or become a mutant. The more those numbers began to grow, the more apparent it became that there were people with extraordinary abilities among the general population. The shadows could no longer hide them.

The year was 1973 when the world finally realised what was happening as Tv footage spread of people with amazing powers. The word mutant began to circulate. Some accepted these people, finding their powers cool and fun. Others began to hate and fear those that they believed were out to replace them or were an affront to religion and other beliefs. Now known to the world, their numbers still growing, mutants have begun to band together with others that share the same mindset. Most of which wanted to live side by side with humans. Though not a lot was known about mutants and how many they truly were. This is when Charles Xavier and Hank McCoy reopen the school for mutants.

Discovering his powers long ago, Charles Xavier has spent his life reaching out to and helping mutants and humans alike around the world. His work has helped mutants that have found themselves victims of hatred and fear, teaching them that their powers are a gift and not a curse and that with enough work they can one day stand alongside humans. His dream is that one day humans and mutants will find a peace that allows them to share this world, using their respective gifts to make a greater world for all. All hatred and fear will become a thing of the past.

So 1974 the doors were once again opened to young mutants looking for a place to figure themselves out. The human race didn't know of his school and that it was full of mutants learning to control themselves. All they knew was that is was a place for gifted youngsters. The school being a safe haven has opened its doors to anyone. But with the years passing and humans learning more and more about mutants. What will happen? Will they live peacefully with them ore will humans and there leaders rise up to control the mutant population?

Lines are being drawn, and dark forces are stirring in the shadows. The question is: Where will you stand?
