Zarathos, the Spirit of Vengeance, is focused solely on dealing out vengeance to those deserving of it and always wants to be let out. He lets nothing stand in his way and will, occasionally, allow innocent bystanders to be harmed in his pursuit of his mission. Unlike Blaze he has no qualms about using deadly force. When the Rider is in charge and the “human safety” that is Blaze comes off, he is like a force of nature in complete control of his powers. While the two have fought to wrest control from one another over the years, recently Zarathos and Blaze have come to something of an understanding, but the right circumstances can result in Johnny once again having to reign in the Rider.
Hellfire Shotgun: a regular shotgun infused with the power of hellfire.
Regenerative Healing Factor: Ghost Rider has been known to regenerate damage rapidly, restoring severed limbs and even growing a new skull in mere moments when it was blown off. For the most part the Ghost Rider barely seems to even register pain. Wounds Johnny receives in human form however seem to heal far slower, forcing him to remain the Rider lest he succumb to fatal wounds.
Hellfire: The trademark of the Rider is his ability to manipulate the supernatural flame known as hellfire. He can project it from his hands, eyes, and mouth as a weapon and choose weather it acts much like traditional flame (albeit incredibly hot) or to “burn cold” where it supernaturally sears the soul. The Rider can also infuse things such as vehicles and weapons with hellfire, increasing their durability and effectiveness. Perhaps most scariest of all however is the ability to form objects such as chains, motorcycle, or clothing out of pure hellfire.
Chains: He can generate mystical, seemingly unbreakable chains of pure hellfire that he can then mentally control, allowing them to react in ways normal chains could not. Though rare, he has been known to project these from the mouth and chest when need be, but typically relies on his ever-present hellfire infused chain.
Penance Stare: The most devastating ability in the Ghost Rider’s arsenal it allows him when staring into the eyes of a target, to cause them to feel all the pain and suffering they have inflicted upon the innocent. The process often damages the soul itself and can leave a victim catatonic, but is not without drawbacks and limitations as it requires direct unobscured eye contact and that the target actually feel guilt/remorse for the damage they have done.
Penance Stare Flaws: the stare only works on individuals with souls, backfires if used on someone bonded to a symbiote, and requires that the target actually feel remorse for their sins.
Holy/Weapons: though conventional weaponry is near useless against the Rider, Divine weapons can cause lasting physical harm no matter who is bearing them. Likewise, the Hellfire infused shotgun Blaze used when separated from Zarathos can harm the Rider.
Magic: Sufficiently powerful magic can damage the Ghost Rider.
Zarathos: the Spirit of Vengeance itself can be an impediment for Blaze as it cares only about exacting vengeance upon the guilty and may not see those Johnny wishes to protect or help as innocents deserving of its aid. It can also fight Johnny for control at any time.
Stubbornness: Johnny can be very impulsive, often rushing into things without thinking, getting in over his head and refusing to listen to reason or take the time to think things through. It is what landed him in this mess to begin with and it continues to plague him to this day.
Hell is hell: Blaze was dragged to hell and he fears ever being trapped there again.

Ghost Rider (comics)About:
Personality:
With a background rife with tragedy and pain it is little wonder that Blaze is a haggard, burnt out biker. He lives his life on the road, never staying in one place long and never making any real connections with people as a way of protecting both them and himself from the pain he knows the Ghost Rider will cause. He is also the first person to tell you that he is no superhero holding no delusions about what being afflicted with the Rider really means. Despite his loner status, he does have a dry sense of humor that even manages to peek through on occasion when embracing the power of the Rider. While he may not be book smart, he is savvy and crafty when need be. Unfortunately, he is also incredibly headstrong and at times borderline arrogant, both traits that have come back to bite him. Abilities:
Stunt Cyclist: Johnny is one of if not the best daredevil stunt riders in the world and that is without the Ghost Rider joined to him
occult knowledge: over the years blaze has picked up a fair bit of knowledge about the supernatural, mostly regarding lore.

Weapons / Equipment:
Hellcycle: his flaming motorcycle, capable of driving up the surface of buildings and even across water. It repairs itself if destroyed and can his supernatural speeds. The Rider’s connection to the bike is strong enough that it seems to respond to his mental commands, finding him no matter where it was beforehand. Hellfire Shotgun: a regular shotgun infused with the power of hellfire.
Powers:
Superhuman Traits: Though Johnny himself lacks any true power, transformation into the Ghost Rider leaves him with many superhuman abilities including incredible strength, near endless stamina, and tremendous durability that enables him to survive most wounds with ease, though sufficient damage can cause Blaze to be unconscious thereby ceding control to Zarathos.Regenerative Healing Factor: Ghost Rider has been known to regenerate damage rapidly, restoring severed limbs and even growing a new skull in mere moments when it was blown off. Human: thought the Spirit of Vengeance is immensely powerful, the human host is not and can be injured and killed the same as any other man.Penance Stare Flaws: the stare only works on individuals with souls, backfires if used on someone bonded to a symbiote, and requires that the target actually feel remorse for their sins.

History:
Johnny Blaze’s history is filled with tragedy, pain, and many, many lies. It all started at the Quentin Carnival where he entered into a Faustian pact with the devil to save the life of his stepfather Crash Simpson only to have the poor guy die in a fiery stunt gone wrong before he could enjoy his newfound health. Only the intervention of Roxanne, Crash’s daughter and Blaze’s girlfriend, prevented his soul from being claimed that instant. Instead he found himself bonded to what he thought was the demon Zarathos, becoming the flaming skulled biker Ghost Rider as he sought out evil to punish. After many adventures including joining the heroic Champions, he eventually managed to free himself of the curse, married Roxanne, and settled down to start a family.
His peace was short lived however as rumors of a new Ghost Rider abounded. Fearing Zarathos was free he tracked down then Ghost Rider Danny Ketch only to learn it was a new entity acting as the Spirit of Vengeance. Acting as something of a mentor to Danny he traveled with him, hunting down evil with the aid of his Hellfire infused shotgun, During the course of their adventures came the revelation that Ketch and Blaze were brothers and that the Rider was something of a family curse passed down through their mother Naomi. It wasn’t until he believed Danny dead that Blaze returned to his family and tried to live a normal life, but fate and his interest in the occult, drew him back into the Ghost Rider’s world. With Zarathos reconstituted within him and his wife and children dead, Johnny was once again the Spirit of Vengeance for a time only to eventually be dragged to Hell kicking and screaming.
He finally escaped the pit largely thanks to a scheme by Satan to manifest on Earth, a plot the Ghost Rider eventually ended, only to learn that much of the history he thought he knew was a lie. Zarathos was not a demon, the Ghost Rider was not a servant of Hell, and the Medallion of Power he thought was intimately tied to Zarathos’s power and his family curse was all an elaborate ruse to hide the truth: the Spirit of Vengeance was a weapon of Heaven. Zarathos had been twisted and tormented in Hell until even it no longer knew what it had been a Spirit of Vengeance. Blaze was less than pleased to have learned that yet again he had been lied to and made a puppet: first by infernal powers and then by divine.
It was during a battle to liberate heaven itself from rogue angel Zadkiel, the very entity responsible for bonding the Rider to him so many years ago, when blaze, with the aid of ghost riders of the past, managed to liberate the Golden City. The massive power released cast Zadkiel into Hell, but also expelled Johnny.
Finding himself in a new dimension similar yet different to his own, Johnny doesn't know how to get home or if he even wants to. Perhaps this new world is a reward from God for a job well done. Or maybe it is some fresh torment for the Spirit of Vengeance. Either way, Blaze rides again, traveling the roads and highways of America, delivering vengeance to all who have it coming and trying to figure out how to live with the idea of being the most potent weapon in the divine arsenal while in a world not his own.
