Timeline: A week after Humanity Previous Threads: humanity Characters Involved: @kinsey Location: Outskirts of New York City, in a small dinner. Shes Fallen to far the girl that time forgot “ Things were looking up for Jessica. Zach had been working with her and well while things still really bothered her and she was suffering from constant nightmares and she wasn't the easiest to teach. It was mostly due to her stubborn 'I can do it by myself' attitude that she had installed in her from a very young age. So accepting help was always a tough thing for her. Yet she thanked full that Zach had allowed her to finally go out on her own without him by her side. While on the outside she was ready and calm about it, but somewhere inside she feared. She feared she would hurt someone, or that she would become the monster inside herself once more. Today she was tasked with taking some fresh food to the dinner that was located just a few miles from the ranch she was currently staying at, again thanks to Zach. The thought of him actually caused the young girl to bite her lip in annoyment, she couldn't quite place just why she stayed with him, why she allowed him to get away with touching her as much as he did. Granted it wasn't anything bad, it was all 'when feeding this animal you put your hand here' type of touching. Which she still wasn't used to. It didn't take the girl long to get to the dinner and she was greeted by a friendly elderly lady. "You must be Miss. Jessica. Zach said his new hand was coming, he didn't say how pretty she was." The woman gave a huge smile. "Bout time that boy started getting pretty women in his life." Jessica watched the older woman with confusion. She wasn't quite picking up what the woman was putting down. Jessica then placed the crate on the counter and looked around the Dinner. Something was off, something wasn't right. It was like a sixth sense and her eyes instantly went into combat mode. She wasn't sure what was going to happen but she felt it, like the metal in her body pinching every nerve it could. ” [/div]

"Losin' your touch, cher"
The voice broke the silence of the room, calling to the young girl from a seat in the corner by the window. Save for him and the old lady at the counter, the entire place was empty. Suspiciously empty. Her reaction came as no surprise, but the delay in it certainly was.
Perhaps her little holiday was making her soft.
Now Kinsey had to be careful here. He'd arranged for there to be no civilians save for the Diner owner, an entirely empty building, or someone she didn't expect would have scared her off. His partner in crime was ensuring that no one else could come close, but he still didn't want to set her off. Who knew the property damage she could cause. Or when she'd regain her senses enough to stop.
"Jessica honey, take a seat" the government operative said with a characteristic smile, gesturing to the seat opposite him in the booth. They'd worked together enough for her to know a little about him, enough to know that his acting familiar was just who he was and not a threat.
"Just here to talk" he followed up, holding both armoured hands to the sky ina submissive manner. He was in his work attire, cloak of deep red and golden armour, but he didn't have his mask on at all and wore the hood down. Not the common practice for when he was sent to kill or capture.
His last act was to point at the empty cup of coffee in front of him, then hold up two fingers to the lady Talos was stood near, receiving a kind smile as the old lady moved off toward a pot of coffee near the back.
He had clearly been here for a while now.
He had been waiting for her.

She's Fallen too far the girl that time forgot “ The voice rang in her ear and her fists clenched. Her eyes darted at him and she got into a stance where both feet were placed on the floor and her hands were at her side in an angled position, this was the easiest way for her to draw her swords if she needed to. She also made sure to have a good feeling of all of the metal in the building. From the forks sitting on the empty tables to the air vents in the ceiling. She wasn't going down, not now, not after what was given to her. He then spoke her name, one that was never brought to anyone knowledge while she was in the government. However, she figured that they all knew now, as it was the name she was hiding by. "So they told you more information about me. Lucky. I had to find out the hard way." She gritted her teeth in anger. She walked over but with every step, there was still the feeling that Talos would attack at any given time, but she didn't, not yet. Instead, she took a seat and watched the man. "So where are the others? Raz, Mike, Kara, Steve?" She said in a venomous tone. It was clear that Talos was not happy that he was here. Which was true, she was just finding her place in the world, finding out just who she really was. Yet here he was, and in her mind, he was there to bring her back. To take her home to all of the brainwashings to the forced pain of killing people she didn't want to. Yet she knew they didn't know all of that, but she did wonder if they would change their minds about it if they did know. She wondered if they would take down that section of the government she worked for if they knew what was going on. Mike knew, but he couldn't do anything about it, his programming wouldn't let him, so he too had to watch the horrors they did to Kara and to the others. ”

"They didn't want to, but not usin' ya name just seemed rude" he said with a slight laugh, turning his smile to the old lady as she arrived at the table and poured coffee into his cup. The lady placed a second cup in front of Talos, poured coffee into it, and walked away.
"I don't know to be honest, cher" he said once the lady was outside of earshot, turning his gaze back to the young girl and shrugging his shoulders. He drank from his coffee, poured from the same pot as Talos's, and smiled at her as if letting her know it was safe.
"New York, Cali, mah darlin' louisiana. Our work takes us everywhere you know that." He laughed a little, shaking his head slowly as a means of telling himself off. "But that ain't what ya asked. They ain't here. Don't worry."
He took another sip from his coffee and then leant back against his chair, both arms rested along the back of it in a relaxed position almost entirely opposite to Talos's tense attitude.
"I'm here alone." he said reassuringly, but paused. Adding a quick addendum to his statement whilst tapping the tiny metal device in his right ear. "Well. You know."
"Seriously cher, I'm here alone. Only agent in the field." he gestured to himself from head to toe with both hands. Exaggerating his point. "Just wanna talk. Relax, have a drink"
He turned one hand toward the drink in front of her, tiny licks of steam coming from the cup. He hoped that she'd take the chance to relax so they could talk without constant fear of her exploding in weaponised rage. She was under no threat. He hadn't come here to capture her. The sooner she realised that,t he sooner he could get to what he'd come here to say.
"Or I can get a milkshake for ya if you prefer? I hear they're quite good."

She's Fallen too far the girl that time forgot “ Every piece of her wanted to fight and run away but she knew better, she knew if she did then they would keep coming, and she couldn't find them all off on her own, and she didn't want to bring them back to Zach. So he had her attention at least for now that was. She looked at the drink in front of her and then back at him. She then took a deep breath and looked towards the woman with a smile on her face. "Katie can I please have an Iced tea instead." It was a smile that no one had really seen her do before, and those who knew her well probably would have been a little freaked out by it, or they would really see the beauty behind the weapon. The older woman smiled back and nodded and traded out the drinks. Jess then looked at the man across from her. "They are too sweet for my liking but a nice cup of unsweetened tea does the job." She was still very tight with her body language but this was about as relaxed as the man was going to get her. When the tea was set on the table Jess to a drink a slight expression of pleasure ripped through her face before coming back to that emotionless expression that everyone was used to. ” [/div]

"Our little girl's all grown up" he said was a joking smile, wiping a metaphorical tear from his eye. "How time flies"
It wasn't his intention to mock her, the last thing he needed was to make her tenser than she already was, but he just couldn't help himself. He looked away from her to the view outside the window. The suspiciously quiet streets, the gentle breeze pushing along white fluffy clouds.
"I don't blame you for not trustin' me, cher. I prob'ly wouldn't either." he said looking back to her, his same constant smile resting on his features. It was strange, it was as if the two of them were two sides of the same coin. She was stuck with a stony visage that strained to smile, and he was the opposite. Constant beaming sunshine no matter the weather.
A smile that couldn't die.
"I know you ain't one for small talk so I'll skip it." he said shrugging, taking the last sip from his coffee cup and returning his arms to rest wide along the back of his seat.
"Officially" he said with unusual emphasis, even for someone as socially inept as Talos to notice. "I'm here to ask you if you'll come home."
He knew this wouldn't spark the best of reactions from her, but his demeanour belied no hesitation or preparation to fight her. It was clear to anyone that he didn't believe that she would accept his invitation. Thankfully that wasn't the real reason he was here.
But there was time for that later.
"We've known where you were since day one." he elaborated,a tinge of apology in his voice. "Everywhere you've been, everyone you've met. Where you've been stayin'. It's all on record."
He very quickly raised a hand, pre-empting her reaction to what could have been as perceived as a threat. His smile didn't change, but his eyes showed as much compassion as he could physically manage to convey.
"You ain't safe dahlin'." he finished. Hoping she understood he wasn't against her.
"They'll come here in force eventually."
