Timeline: Current Previous Threads: Lost in Sun City Characters Involved: Corvin Sullivan Location: Shadowcrest / and a made up dimension. Hey, pay attention to me! I'm fascinating. “ It had been days, no months since Zatanna had done a show or even left her home of Shadowcrest. She had locked herself away in her mansion, she had to find a way out of this world. If not for her sake then for everyone else. She couldn't even find Dr. Fate who had in her world been her father. The missions she put on herself only lead her deeper down into forgetting that she actually had a life and a few friends to think about, and by few, it was pretty much only John. Dick had disappeared a few days after finding him and well she wasn't aware that a new one had shown up, nor that a bunch of her other friends had also made an appearance. Perhaps if she knew that she wouldn't have locked herself away. The mansion itself looked dark and dim to those on the outside but once someone was to come in with the magic words, only given to a few sets of people, they would see just how lively the house really was. Everything seemed to move on its own from time to time, doors would show up where they weren't a while ago and eventually disappear. There was, however, in the center of the living area a door. It wasn't connected to anything, it looked as though it was a fake door placed in the center with no frame to hold it, yet it stood perfectly awaiting to be opened. ” notes SHADOW, I will describe the universe and such when Cor opens the door.

It was likely folks had stayed away from the somewhat forbidding structure since Zatanna,but whether that was true or not a boy approaches it upon a worn down bicycle. Corvin had just gotten done with a round of deliveries,and decided it was high time someone checked in on the mysterious magician.And so here he was, getting off of his bike and wheeling it towards the long set of stairs. Looking up at Shadowcrest, the young demigod gave a thoughtful, and slightly concerned frown. It certainly does look impressive, and any mystical...security...that Ms. Zatanna has put on it,if she's what I think she is, is bound to be impressive as well. Still, I made a promise, and besides, I'm worried too."Giving a sharp nod,he leans his transportion against the start of the rail, and approaches the door, saying the password. Once he enters, Cor glances around,calling out. "Ms. Zatanna?" After the fairly obvious result of not getting,a response, the boy gave a thoughtful hum,shutting the door behind him as he walked deeper into the house,,glancing around some more,though more out of curiousity than when he entered. A somewhat awed smile appeared on Cor's face as Shadowcrest showed it's magical roots, strange things happening around him as he walked. Granted, considering the city he lived in,plenty of strange things happened already, but this was magic!It...it'd been a long time since he was actually surrounded by it. It felt...right. Cor couldn't help but give a happy mutter. "This place is amazing..." Soon enough,he finds the door.and gives a quizzical head tilt. "Eh??" Walking around it,the boy shrugs,then opens it,eyes widening at what he's confronted with. "What the...?"Zatanna Zatara (Note:I look forward to it!!^^)

Hey, pay attention to me! I'm fascinating. “ The place that opened up to the boy was nothing like what he was used to. The sky was a light pale pinkish orange color. The grass was a nice lime green with little bright colored flowers growing all around. It was then a small black puppy walked up to the boy, watching him closely. "Another one." The puppy spoke as it eyed the boy. "Why did you come here? Did you come to help us too?" the little thing looked so excited and even pounced around. "Come come this way!" The young puppy then started running towards what looked like a city bustling with life, but it wasn't human life. It was all animals, nothing was created for or by humans. "The human is this way. Come on." He spoke as he stood up on his back to paws and opened up a door leading into the town hall. In the building was full of cats, dogs, lizards, and even some fish bowls. Each was doing some sort of job that you would see a human doing. At the center of it all was a tall woman with black hair in what seemed to be a show costume and a top hat. She was speaking with a Cow about something magical. ”

Cor looked around as he, somewhat cautiously, stepped out of the door. "What kind of place is this?..."Blinking as a puppy walks up to him, the boy smiles. "Well hello there." He was about to bend down and give the pup ear scratches, but gets a shock as the little furball speaks. Looking down at the pup with wide eyes, the boy listens as he tries to process that yes,there was a talking dog in front of him. Snapping out of it as his guide pounces around excitedly, asking him to follow, Cor nods, smiling as he runs behind him. "Uhm...S-sure!!" The pup had mentioned another human, and the only one he could think of being here was the magician he'd been seeking. As they enter the city, he glanced around,uttering a soft woah. Granted, he probably shouldn't be so surprised, since he'd seen...heck, was...stranger, but still...Glancing down at his fuzzy guide when they mention the other human being this way, he nods. "O-ok." Following the pup in, Cor spots a tall woman conversing with a cow, his head tilting slightly as he hears magic being mentioned. Not sure if this was a important discussion, the young demigod was unsure about interrupting. Zatanna Zatara

Hey, pay attention to me! I'm fascinating. “ Zatanna looked over as the two came into the building. She looked back at the cow and excused herself before walking over to the young boy. She was curious as to how he had gotten to this world. "Hello." She spoke with a soft yet reassuring voice. "I'm Zatanna Zatara, by the looks of it, you don't belong in this world." she giggled a bit, she wasn't being rude, only pointing out the fact that the boy in front of her was human and not an animal. "Might I ask what you are doing here and how you happened upon this world? Is there a door that needs to be closed?" She would wonder as she spoke to the boy. As the two stood, the whole office watched them. It was weird having Zatanna around and now another human had stumbled into their world and well it wasn't something they had often seen. So they gawked at the two animalized beings. ”

Eyes widening as Zatanna seemed to excuse herself and then walked over to him, Corvin looked up at her. His small form relaxed slightly at the reassuring tone of her voice, and he gave a small, slightly wry smile at the lady magician's first comment. Speaking up in a shy,quiet tone, the young demigod responded to that and her questions. "T-true, Ma'am. I came through the same door that you must've.I came here because p-people are worried about you,and I promised a little g-girl called Lian I'd check up on you. In fact, she's the one that gave me the word that allowed me to enter your home. Oh! And my name's Corvin Sullivan. I-it's nice to meet you, Ms. Zatanna."Cor glanced around at the environment they were in again, shrinking slightly at noticing they were being stared at. Glancing back up at Zee, the boy softly asked a question. "U-uhm...if it's ok to ask...What's happening here?"Zatanna Zatara

"Lian.... Lian Harper?" The woman then sighed. "She must really like you if she gave you such information." She then giggled a bit. "Its a pleasure to meet you, Corvin. Any friend of Speedy's is a friend of mine." The woman then bit her lip a bit as the boy asked about what was going on in this place. "Well its quite complicated. These beings are being cursed by a rhino with magic abilities who is getting revenge." That was probably confusing all in itself. "This world is, as I'm sure you can tell is ran by Animals instead of humans. They aren't supposed to be Animals, they are actually humanoid beings. But they ended up capturing a magic Rhio breed while they were out and exploring the universe. And instead of talking things though he ended up turning them all into animals to mirror his own planet. " Zatanna explained hoping that would cover his question. Corvin Sullivan

Cor nodded in agreement as Zatanna asked if the Lian he meant was Lian Harper,giving a small smile as she said that the young child must really like him to give the young demigod such important information. "S-she's a good kid." As Zee said that it was good to meet him,the smile widens just a tinge,and he relaxes further. 'For someone rumored to be a big, scary Power, she certainly is nice. Though, I suppose that's not too much of a surprise. After all, Lian likes her.'As she begins to explain,the boy was indeed confused. He blinked behind his shades and his head tilted to the side. 'A...magical rhino?' Listening as the woman continues to explain, his brows first raise, then furrow. Corvin glanced around the room, examining the folks watching them,and giving a soft, thoughtful hum. 'So, they didn't start out like this...Sure, they pretty much abducted him, but they don't deserve being forcibly transmogri...changed.Besides, it's not like the entire planet did it,and it was likely to be a misunderstanding as well. I have to give these people a hand.'Giving a sharp nod, he glanced back up at Zee, speaking up. "Ok. How do I help?"Zatanna Zatara

Hey, pay attention to me! I'm fascinating. “ The boy stated that Lian was a good kid and Zatanna nodded. She had known her father and had fought against her mother when she was on the team made of sidekicks, it did sadden her a bit at the memories. The only real reason she was apart of that team was because Nabu took her father and she was only a teenager, she lived in mount justice and used transporters to go to her school in Gotham City. It was thanks to Bruce Wayne that she wasn't homeless and that she wasn't alone for her teen years. As she ascended into adulthood and she learned more she was able to access her childhood home Shadowcrest. Lian was just a baby back then, while she was a cute one she was still a Harper though and through. To this day Zatanna wouldn't change her mind about that. Lian had that spark Roy had, she just hoped that Roy would be able to keep up with Lian. Zatanna nodded at the Magic Rinoh confusion. The world is way bigger than we ever think it is. There isn't just one world, there are timelines in that world and dimensions that spring from each universe. Its wibbly wobbly timey wimey kinda stuff. It's confusing unless you study it for a long time. I still get confused." Zee spoke with a small laugh at the end of the sentence. He seemed to be getting it and that was good, she could also use the help in cracking this case. It was more than just a simple job, It required more than just her and perhaps this kid could be of great help to her. "I could always use the help after all a Magician is never alone." She winked at the boy. She then took off her hat and pulled out a book from it and set the book on the table. It was a very old looking and very thick, very carefully Zatanna opened to the middle of the book. The yellow aged paper pages were blank, Zatanna removed her hands from the book then covered them over the top of the clean pages. A simple spell then left her lips, however, it was spoken backward so to the untrained ear it would just sound like she spoke a dead language or something unknown. The pages then started to bleed with colors, the picture drawing itself. As the page filled with color Zatanna looked at the boy. "So this is where he is hiding. We need to get in to talk to him but right now I can't seem to get my magic through his barrier. Its like he's detecting me, and assumes I'm apart of these people here." She pointed down at the picture of what was now moving artwork as it was a real-time view of what was a high tech zoo with beautiful exhibits that were perfect for each animal, it was years, decades ahead of the ones in the current Zoos in Corvin's world, even in Zatannas world. It would have been a beautiful place to visit if it wasn't being overrun by a mad rhino with anger issues. ”

Corvin listened, brows raising a tad, as Zatanna explained that there were multiple timelines and dimensions,as well as multiple universes. As the boy took a few seconds to consider what that meant, his eyes widened. "(Timey Wimey?? Does that mean she watches Doctor Who?)Wait,so...Ah, never mind. I'll just leave it at there being alot of...stuff,and the fact that the Rhino is probably not as weird as things could be. I start thinking any deeper then that, I'll probably tie my brains into knots considering everything,or at least get pretty distracted.' Giving his head a quick shake in a attempt to refocus, he looked up at her with a somewhat sheepish smile and nodded. "T-that's understandable."As Zee responded to his question by saying she could always use a help and that Magicians were never alone, the boy shot her a quick grin, and then watched curiously as she took off her hat. His head tilted to the side,and his brows raised slightly in surprise,as the Mistress of Magic pulled out a book that was definitely too large to actually fit in there. Despite himself, the young demigod found himself standing on his tiptoes and attempting to snag a quick peek into the hat. As the woman opened the book, Corvin glanced over, head tilting slightly as he noticed that the age-stained pages were seemingly blank.Blinking at what sounded like a ancient language the boy's eyes widened and he gave a soft and impressed sounding exhale, as the words reveal themselves to be a spell thanks to the appearance of the photo accurate, andseemingly real time artwork. "Coool..."Glancing back up at Zee as she glanced down at him and spoke, he nodded. "O-ok,ma'am.Let's see what I could do,then." Corvin turned his attention back to the artwork,and examined it closer. An impressed look darted across his face as he noticed the beauty of the skillfully crafted sanctuary. 'This place seems pretty amazing...' Giving a thoughtful hum, he glanced back up at her. "I-I know there's a barrier in our way..but, uhm...I think I can get use past it, if there's a big enough shadow on each side.I can travel through them, t-though I've never taken someone with me before."Zatanna Zatara

Hey, pay attention to me! I'm fascinating. “ Zatanna was excited that she could show the boy some cool tricks with the hat and the book. She loved performing and well no matter what she did she was always performing when she was around others. It was just that simple to do, she was also very glad that the boy wasn't getting wrapped up in the multiverse/dimension thing. If was interested in it later she could perhaps try teaching him what she knew. After all what was a great mind if you couldn't share it with those eager to learn? "Teleportation via shadows, now that could indeed do it." She smiled brightly at the boy. "We will need to do a test run to see if it is possible, I believe I can create a similar construction. Are you sure you are wanting to do this? It could be dangerous. While I will do everything in my power to protect you, I never go into battle without everyone knowing the dangers." She asked. Zatanna was never the kind to put anyone else at risk for a mission unless she had no choice. While this situation was indeed moving towards that direction it still wasn't fully there and backing out now was an okay option if need be. However, she could see the hero in him as she did with Robin, Aqualad and Kid Flash. She could tell that he wouldn't run away just because there was a danger but she wanted to keep it his option if he chose to fight or chose to stand down, after all this wasn't his world, this was a different one and she would never judge anyone for any choice they made. Well except for bad guys she would judge their choices hardcore. "If you are scared of taking someone with you, we can practice that too. I want to make sure you feel comfortable with this. After all, uncertainty can lead to a mess of trouble when dealing with magic."”

Corvin perked up as Zatanna said that his ability to travel through shadows could indeed be of use, and gave a shy but happy smile back up at her as she smiled down at him. He nodded in agreement with her first statement about doing a test run, only to blink as she asked if he was sure he wanted to wanted to get involved. The young hero glanced around at the forcefully transmogrified beings around them, brows furrowing slightly, then gave a firm nod. Sure, Corvin was a bit concerned,since this was a few steps, at least, above spooking muggers, but these people needed help. There wasn't any way he was going to walk away, not when he could lend the aid that they all needed. "Y-ye-...Yes, I'll stay."
Relaxing as she said they could practice journeying through the shadows together as well, the boy nodded vigorously in agreement. It was rather clear that he thought that was a very good idea indeed. Corvin definitely didn't want to try taking her through the the place he went through during his shadow walks,only to find out she couldn't enter, or worse, for there to be any...mishaps. Nose wrinkling somewhat ruefully,he gave another, small nod at her final statement. That was the truth. He still got a little embarrassed on remembering his first attempt at forming a shadow construct. It'd been all...gloopy.
