Physical Appearance: When out of costume, Beck has short black hair, in a bit of a bowler cut. More often than not wearing fancy suits unless trying to stay unnoticed. When in costume, Mysterio has a one way glass dome around his head, a shadowy face inside that can match the expression of the wearer. He also wears a green suit with purple shoulderpads and a long flowing cape. He wears green and black gauntlets with matching boots as well.



Personality: Mysterio is a man after fame more than anything else. He commits his crimes, not to gain wealth or specifically revenge (although his hatred for spiderman helps), but for the attention and praise he gets. Beck tries to maintain a calm and theatrical demeanor a majority of the time, but tends to drop it if he gets really angry (Such as using the words "Fish Bowl" in relation to him, or someone trying to steal credit for something he did). He loves hearing the praise of fans and will go out of his way to sign autographs and the like, especially having a soft spot for kids since their looks of awe and wonder at his tricks brings a smile to his face. Mysterio is usually against killing for this very reason, unless he thinks he can twist it around to make himself look like the one in the right within the scenario.

Abilities: Mysterio is a master of slight of hand magic as well as special effects. Ranging from makeup and CGI to robotics and illusions.


Weapons/Equipment: Mysterio has various hidden gadgets in his arsenal, some of the most common being: Robot duplictes, hologram projectors, a hallucinagin gas, smokescreens, and air cannons in his gloves to make it seem like he's punching further than he really is, and a flight pack hidden under his cape. He has a one way glass dome around his head in costume, that is made of a bulletproof material.



History: Quentin Beck started out as nothing more than a kid who enjoyed magic tricks. His deadbeat dad however, was less than enthusiastic. Often pretending that Quentin wasn't even there, instead pretending to talk to his dead mother, often just to insult Beck in an indirect manner. Desperate for any kind of attention, Quentin got a job in Hollywood, both as a stuntman and a special effects designer. the longer he went however, the less people recognized his talents. Feeling as if he had to step things up a notch, he attempted to try out as an actor, but was swiftly denied due to a lack of acting ability or looks.

This anger would eventually reach it's breaking point when during a filmshoot, Spiderman mistook the special effects for an actual emergency and attempted to intervene, causing the stunt to go wrong and put everyone in danger. Instead of Spiderman however, Beck recieved all the blame! Fired and brimming with hatred, Beck would create the mantle of Mysterio in an attempt to ruin the wallcrawler's life as he felt the webhead had done to him. Time after time again the two would clash, always ending with Mysterio's defeat.

Eventually Beck would fake his own death after failing to defeat other heroes such as Daredevil. Several other would take over his mantl, but none held a candle to the original, prompting Beck to make one final gamble to remind the world what Mysterio could REALLY do! In the process both finding out Spiderman's identity, via a robot duplicate he was controlling in the Ultimate Universe. Once again Mysterio would fail...but isntead of prison, Spiderman would exile him in the ultimate dimension, where knowledge of his identity was useless. Eventually returning to his native dimension Mysterio attacked Spiderman before being nearly killed by deadpool, who ran him over in the dead-buggy by accident. Waking up in the hospital, saved by spiderman...Beck felt worthless, giving up the mantle of Mysterio once more. Retiering to Las Vegas, he would soon find himself once again stranded in an alternate dimension, where an old pal was going to contact him soon....


Weaknesses: Mysterio relies too much on his tricks and tools in a fight, if it came to an actual brawl he would be near helpless. His ego is also off the charts, willing to reveal himself if it meant getting the fame and glory for his deeds. He also does not deal with failure well, enough repeated failures are enough to drive him spirling into a self hating depression.
