Born and raised out west in a small town consisting of only a few hundred people, Zach is a simple man trying to live a simple life. His mother and siblings lived and worked on a ranch while his father was recruited to help develop defensive artillery against the invading outsiders. Revealing their latest invention, the research team was about to give a demonstration when an accident would change the Sainmore family's lives forever. An unstable beam struck Zach just above his heart, resulting in a forced mutation, enabling him to control light.
After the accident, his father quit his job and returned to the ranch. Shortly after graduation high school, Zach set off east in hopes of uncovering more about his newfound powers and to uncover just what was truly going on. Along the way, he would aide those he comes across.
Thanks to his time in a small town, Zach has a western accent with a country drawl. Keeping hold of his roots, the boy wears long sleeve shirts, denim jeans, and cowboy boots and hat. On his waist rests his trusty revolver while a rifle sits in the gun rack on his truck. Syber, his faithful dog, is almost always at his owner's side and Brass Handles, the boy's horse, tagged along for the journey.
While he prefers to make friends and allies, should the situation call for it, the cowboy won't hesitate to draw his .357. Preferring to work hard than lounge around, when he isn't roaming the streets or helping out the community, Zach can be found caring for his garden and animals.
