His words, however sincere they were, barely helped to take the edge off the pain. But the very thoughts he expressed were running through Kris's head. How would others live with this guilt? How could they? It felt as though the very universe was punishing her for being different. With all these thoughts and images screaming through her mind, there was but one light that was pulling her towards the exit, helping to relieve her of the stress. Ever so subtle heartbeat in Jake's chest. Wishing to be closer to it, she amplified the vibrations it gave off just enough that it thumped in her ear with enough bass to drown out the screams and cries of the victims. With the silent bubble falling down, the world of chaos snapped her back into reality instantaneously. The flashing lights and shouts from the police, news, and witnesses was enough to drive her insane. So many vibrations, so much noise, it was almost hurting her head. Before she could react and process the information, Jake asked a simple question. Did she trust him? Of course she did! She trusted this man with her very life and being. She wanted to tell him this, but due to the shock of the surroundings, she could only give a simple nod. Shoved into the arms of the web-themed hero, Gensokyo Girl looked back just as her close friend lit up in flames, taking to the skies. Her eyes wide, she wanted to beg him to not leave, but no words came. Flying through the air in the arms of Spiderman, she kept her focus locked on Jake and the purple flamed pillar that rose higher and higher. Then, her eyes went wide and her face went pale. His flight path wavered and the flamed sputtered. Something wasn't right, despite his efforts to keep going higher. Finally, her voice came to her. " Jake!" was the only thing she was able to call out before he began his unconscious dive. Trying desperately to figure out what was going on, she looked for a way to escape, only to catch a glimpse of an unusual sight. A large robot colored deep in black hopped from a building and slammed to the ground hard enough for her to hear the vibrations even from the distance she was at. Squinting for a better view, she was able to make out what looked like a red colored skull. Dog perhaps? Wolf? She wasn't certain. But she made sure to remember that image and the metal body it was on. Struggling to get free from her savior's grasp, Kris was desperate to go save Nevermore. He was always there for her, even when she didn't want him to be. But the one time he needed her, she was being whisked away by some masked hero. "Jake! Jake! Please! I need to save Jake!" But her struggling futile as she was never able to escape the grip while they were in the air. Taking in a deep breath, she let loose a cry that set off car alarms a block away "JAAAAAAAAAKKEEE!" After finally being back on the ground, her shoulders moved up and down and her breathing was heavy. Turning to look at the man that saved her, happiness was nowhere to be seen in her face. Neither was sorrow. Guilt and rage was all that was there. " You! Because of you, not only did you prevent my escape from this world, but because you wouldn't let me go, my closest friend, the only one I trusted with my secret is gone! Was my suffering not enough? Huh?! You just had to make things worse! Why?! What did I ever do to YOU?!" She screamed at the web-slinger. Turning back around, she faced a brick was that was in her way and the most immediate obstacle in her path. Giving it a kick, she amplified the vibrations to make it look as though a bomb went off, sending dust and debris down an empty alleyway. She was on her way to save Nevermore and show that robot just who it was they pissed off. Spider-ManNevermoreRaz

Spidey had tried his best to do as Quoth the Raven had asked, to keep Kris safe and get her out away from any immediate danger. He wasn't thrilled with playing babysitting duty nor with the cosplay brigade admitting to being a Neo-Human in full view of the public, but as far as distractions went it was a good one. His own existence in this realm had been relatively low key for the time being, but he wasn't a native. Despite knowing the dangers that came with exposing yourself to the public, he was in no position to lecture the young would-be hero. Instead he did what he had done so many times before: slung a web. Normally the sensation of webslinging through the city was at least a momentary distraction for whoever it was lucky enough to have the Sensational Spider-Man be their rescuer of the day. Even though he did it countless times a day, even Peter felt a sort of release of tension when swinging about, losing himself in the movement and in being high above all the hustle and bustle of the city. On the most boring of nights, those rare occasions where the crooks and thugs had taken some downtime, his patrols were made infinitely more interesting thanks to the ability to get a perspective of the city and its people that others lacked. MJ even enjoyed it and not just for getting around without the worry of traffic. It had a calming effect when it was not a frantic, mad dash away from the supervillain of the week. But this was lost on the distraught blue-haired girl. As they lowered into an alley several blocks away from the commotion, Kris went from distraught to panicky. Well, panicky with a bit of anger. Though Peter did take notice that Nevermore had not yet appeared, he had no way of knowing what had transpired. For all he knew the punk was still strutting around like a Neo-Human model. Face it Parker, you have spent waaaay too much time with Deadpool. Not everyone is gonna pull a Wade just because there are cameras, he thought. It didn't take long for him to make sense of Kris' rant as he learned three things. First, Nevermore wasn't going to show. He'd been grabbed by someone or something. Second, the idea of shouting out superhuman identities among strangers was going to take some time to sink in. Lastly, that she blamed him because not only was she still alive, but her pal had been taken. Plus there was the fact that when the brick exploded like someone had strapped it the end of one of Cable's lower-end pop guns, his Spider-Sense tingled ever so slightly. It confirmed not only that Kris was indeed a Neo-Human of some sort herself, but that she was a dangerous one to boot. “Okay, hold up!” Spidey snapped. “First off, you can be as mad at me as you like for not allowing you to become another statistic when it comes to young celebs. I've seen too many people join the Pancake Squad to allow it to happen on my watch. Second, you can't just go off on a tangent trying to save your boyfriend. Now I am sorry something happened to Hot Topic Man, but that is how it goes. You two are young and inexperienced at this whole superhero gig. I would have tried to pass on some of the wisdom I have acquired from my own share of acting first and thinking later mistakes, but between your determination to kill yourself and Ravenhood acting like I'm the bad guy I haven't been able to really get a word in edgewise. And trust me, I'm very good at talking!”
Taking a deep breath, he changed his tone, figuring that aggravating her more was not going to help the situation. “Now look, you want to play Kick the Spider? Go ahead. If a day goes by where someone isn't unjustly blaming me for something, then I know the universe really is out of whack and the end is nigh. I can take it because God knows I blame myself for enough as it is. But what do you really think this is going to accomplish huh? We don't know who took him. Do you guys have villains in this world? Does he have an arhnemesis out for revenge? Unpaid debt to the guyliner store? Or maybe those creepy black suited government sorts that tried to nab me shortly after my arrival showed up? We just don't know. We don't know who has him, where to start looking, or which butts need kicking. And as we established earlier Neoing in public has consequences...like getting grabbed in not-fun ways. So chill pill a moment will you?” And this is why you don't have sidekicks Webhead. How old dark and spooky ever put up with 'I love short shorts!' I'll never know Not to mention Stabby McStaberson and the Amazing Sparkler Girl.“So, step one, you are rich right? You have connections? Stop trying to gank yourself long enough to work them! You find out who has him, where he is, then we can start planning on knocking doors down and taking names. Put this anguish you are in to good use. And if offing yourself is still in the cards despite a literal agent of Heaven telling you its not your fault the dude who would take the blame for Hitler if the world would let him telling you you're good, then maybe you can explain it to Purple Rain after we save his discount store costumed self. Okay?” Face it Parker...you probably should have stopped talking three wrong names ago... he thought with a gulp. Raz Nevermore Gensokyo Girl

Glaring at the web-headed hero, Kris's fists balled up so tightly, her knuckles turned white and the nails dug into the skin to the point they started to bleed a little. She wanted to hit him, she wanted to kick him like she did the brick.... but, she couldn't. To many thoughts going on in her head and the adrenaline in her body wasn't helping her think straight either. Gazing upon him with a death glare in her eyes for a few seconds before letting out the breath she was holding with an exasperated sigh, her eyes closed and she looked down for only a moment. As the girl's shoulders slumped, she sat down and put her back against a wall. What was she going to do? Getting Jake back would be an almost impossible task to begin with, especially since her wrist was damaged and the crowd near the scene of the crime. Taking a deep breath and letting it out slowly, she replied in a hushed voice, " You're right.... I'm sorry...." Neos and vagrants disappeared everyday and, while it upset her, it didn't drive her mad like this. Today, one of her best friends was added to that poll and the only thing she could do was watch. Knocking the back of her head against the wall as if trying to force herself to come up with a plan, very few things were coming to mind. Go in throwing punches? No, that would only make things worse. Dig for intel? Possible, but that could lead her into a trap. Track down the robot? While it's footsteps likely wouldn't be soft, there's so much commotion on the street that it would be like a needle in a very, very large haystack. Yet again, the girl was at a loss. Because of her actions, someone else paid the consequence. This wasn't the first time. Unable to look at the spider-hero, she kept her gaze towards the sky, " Why? Why do others pay the consequence for my actions? It's.... it isn't right...." As a small buzz came from a pocket on the blue skirt, she reached in and pulled out her phone. It was a notification on her social media account... somebody already uploaded a video of Jake flying high into the sky. As muc has it pained her to see it, she gave a small chuckle at it. "Even in his last moments.... he looked so... free." Turning the device to allow her acquaintance view the footage. "Y ou were right about another thing... I am rich, but... I've never gone digging for information. The scariest thing I've ever done with money is purchase manga, anime, and similar stuff from the black market.... I wouldn't even know where to begin with this.... And the only thing that stood out was a robot. It was huge and black.... It looked like a dog skull or something was painted on the shoulder." Picking up a pebble, she threw it across the ground, listening to the noise it made as it skipped and hopped before finally rolling to a stop. What was formerly a 5' 7" figure of pure rage and desperation was, in a matter of minutes, turned into a ball of depression and sorrow. " I need a drink....." Spider-Man

For a tense moment Spider-Man wasn't sure if the neo-human popstar was going to turn him to powder the way she had the brick or not. As he waited for any hint of danger from his spider-sense, he half considered letting her at least tag him, thinking that maybe, just maybe, taking out her frustrations on him would help her calm down and not try doing something rash...like jumping off of another building. When it became clear that she was not actually going to turn this into a round of "Squash the Bug" he sighed with relief. "That would be a negative," Spidey said. "I hate to have to be the designated skyline hopper, but drinking hasn't helped anything yet has it? Besides, I need you clear headed if we are going to find Jake."Thinking about what she had said, he gave a very different sigh, as he began to think aloud. "A robot? That doesn't sound good. Not at all. I mean maybe the government has some sort of automatrons making the rounds, something other than the black suited Containment Squads that I've seen all over T.V. but I didn't think this earth had that level of technology yet. So maybe it was one of Tony's suits? I wouldn't think he'd be so pro-government that he'd let them have access to his tech, but I don't even know if this is the Iron Man I know. And it was dark armor so maybe it was War Machine or at least an armor based on his? But the dog symbol that makes no sense..."
As he rambled he realized he must of sounded like a madman to the blue haired girl, but he didn't stop immediately. He knew all too well that he was going to have to do something he had been putting off: talking to Tony Stark. "Okay, so you could always hire a private investigator, a good one too. That could get us some results. May only go so far, especially of this is a government operation like I think it is, but it's something. As a celebrity you might have access to more people and resources than you think too. Maybe promise an exclusive to a reporter in exchange for getting this some attention? The public is scared of neo-humans but I think the idea of black suited robots grabbing citizens off the street may make some headlines and get some momentum going as far as activists are concerned. And its always election season somewhere so maybe the right senator will get involved too, especially if their grandkid got a private concert down the road?" he suggested Shoulder's slumped he added, " And I will speak with Iron Man. He's got the ear of the government so he should know something at least. And if not there's always His Grim Darkness, a.k.a. The Scowl, a.k.a. No Smiles for the Night Rodent. I am so hoping that I don't have to go that route and that Tin Man has what we need, but I'll pull that trigger if I have to."
Walking over to Kris he placed a hand on her shoulder trying to reassure her. "I know its hard, I've been there. Friends and loved ones missing. At one point I thought my aunt was dead, but she was being held by enemies I had made throughout this pajama party beatdown career of mine. But it'll work out, I promise. We'll find him, we'll break him out, and you can buy him a new emo-shirt album to celebrate. But hey, you are not alone. I'm going to help and if any of my fellow Spandex Squad are here, I think I can get them on board too. This is kind of what we do."
Spider-Man reached into the belt concealed beneath his costume and pulled out a small, white, spider-shaped object. "This is a Spider-Tracer. I use them to track people and things long distance. It's tied to my Spider-Sense...and that's a lot to explain. Anyway, doesn't matter how it works, but it does. Press it if you need help or to get in touch with me. I'll come swinging by as fast as I can. And I mean it, if you get any information, contact me. If someone comes looking for you, same thing. Knocking the circuits out of robots is about as common as ninjas. I've even tackled Robot Ninjas before so...trust me. We got this."

He did seem to know a thing or two about getting attention. If there was one thing that journalists and reporters are always asking for is an exclusive interview with her.... Some has even asked for a more private session. As for digging around for a P.I., finding one that could keep their nose clean and not give wind of who's paying them might be a bit difficult, especially when it comes to getting intel on the government. Yet, as he spoke, a name sounded a little familiar to her. " Tony? Iron Man?" Giving a moment's thought, a man with a beard and an ego the size of her manga collection popped into her mind. " I think I know who he is... I've seen on the television before. Kinda reminds me of my dad. The super smart part, not the big headed part." Doing her best to stand up, she grabbed the boy's hand off her shoulder and moved it to her cheek. A hand on the shoulder felt nice right now, but a calm hand for her to lay her head on felt even better. After a few seconds, she pulled away and looked at the device he gave her. Running her thumb over it, the girl viewed every detail of the gadget, going so far as the feel the molecular vibrations from the exterior. Firm, yet durable. The frequency however, she wasn't quite familiar with. Different metal formed together possibly? Regardless, it wasn't something she would have to worry about breaking and thus, she could carry it with her everywhere she went. Putting it in her pocket, she looked up at the man and gave a small smile. For once, since the incident, no matter how horrible it seemed, she didn't feel alone. " So.... Man-Spider? Spiderman? What should our next move be? I'm not sure what the best course of action is to take here, but if you need money or resources, I have that to spare" As if to seal the agreement, she held out her hand for a handshake. However, should he accept it, she planned on pulling him into a really tight hug, only to prove to herself that this is, in fact, reality, and not a dream. Despite everything that's happened, Kris still wasn't sure what was real and was fake. Spider-Man
