Beneath the symbiote Eddie Brock was smiling. The Red Hood had feebly tossed something at him and his Other had been ready, repelling the explosives easily. All save for the last one that detonated right before it would have struck the face. As soon as it exploded every fiber of his being screamed in agony. The fire was painful certainly, but short lived. The sound however, loud and booming and so very close caused the symbiote to shudder, the pain seemingly reaching down into the core of its being. It was an old, familiar pain. This was hardly the first time sound had injured the symbiote, the annoying wallcrawler having used a church bell, metal pipes, and even a sonic gun to injure it before and while this was nothing compared to those instances, it hurt nonetheless. For a brief moment when Brock didn’t know if the pain was his or the symbiote’s, he felt the cool night air hit his face, his other retreating enough to expose flesh.
As the pain subsided and the symbiote covered his head and face once more, Eddie felt his anger rise. Now, as so many times before, he couldn’t tell where he began and the symbiote ended, but he didn’t question it.
Your rage is my rage, your pain is my pain, but together we shall make the fool suffer! he thought, his Other tickling the base of his skull in acknowledgement.
Roaring angrily he prepared to rip a nearby generator from where it was bolted down, but before he even began the pointy eared freak in the cape was rushing towards him. Propelled by his gadget the zip kick would have knocked over or knocked out almost any ordinary man. But Venom was far from ordinary.
Venom grasped Batman’s leg in a single massive hand before the blow could strike him. Spinning on his heels still holding Batman he swung the Dark Knight out over the edge of the building, tossing him through a window of the neighboring building.
“We warned you once and we are not in the habit of repeating ourselves. We are going to slice Red Hood into pieces so small they can fill a matchbox. Interfere again and we will have to bestow the same fate upon you!” Venom shouted.
Turning his attention back to Red Hood, Venom laughed, the dual voices making it particularly disturbing.
“Since that security firm uses bullet proof glass, we wonder if he is even still alive to have heard us or if it was a bug and windshield situation? Oh well, considering you wanted him dead so bad I guess you could say we did the work for you. Now, lets find out if dismembering you is as much fun as that was.”
Venom quickly fired off webbing, snaring a generator and ripping it from the rooftop. Swinging it overhand he sent the debris flying at Red Hood, hoping to clip his already injured leg while simultaneously rushing forward in an attempt to tackle the man.
