After Slice of Life
Dreams are funny things. Some nights I dream about the car ride we took as a kid. Sometimes we make it to the place we were going and I live a happy life with both of my parents with no powers and wake up sad when I come to find that it was only a dream. I lay in bed for what seems hours crying my eyes out. Wishing for it to come true. Yet since I met Kayley that dream has seemed to fade away into the farthest reaches of my mind. I no longer hold on to the dream as if it was my last hope at happiness.
My dreams have changed to something else. To happiness and confusion but mostly they make me smile. When I wake up I don't feel sad because it was a dream, I feel happy because I know in just a few hours of walking I will be seeing the person my dreams are about.
These dreams are about my best friend Kayley and I. The scene changes all the time but the actions and the story are always the same. It starts out as a nightmare, but I know it won't stay that way. I feel alone, and no one is there beside me, I walk out into the street and I'm covered in ice. The walls and everything around is covered in ice and the feeling of being scared coats my emotions. People are afraid of me, I can see them running away, but I don't mind anymore. It's something I'm used to, the cause of my scared emotion is what is following me in the dream.
Its a monster made of fire, its a man. He seems familiar but I believe its just because I have seen him in this dream many times before. I run from him as fast as I can, I throw ice at him while I try to avoid his attacks. However, my attempts at shooting him are useless. He is to hot for my ice to cool down. It's not until he's cracked through my ice coat and I'm in pain and crying out does a figure seem to cover the sun. Its a figure I know very well. One that iv come to adore with every inch of my very being. It is Gemstone, in all her glory. She defeats the fireman and comes to my rescue every night.
Yet tonight something was different when she picked me off the floor and held me close. I looked up into her eyes and they sparkled with worry I placed my now normal hands on her cheeks and smile. Thanking her for saving me again and promise I'll do better next time in which she giggles with a cocked to the left smile. Seeming like she knows she will forever be my saving grace, the knight in shining armor to my damsel in distress.
This time I lift up and place my lips on hers, she returns the kiss and once we have finished she looks at me with her beautiful eyes.
"What took you so long." She wisperes to me, before I can respond I wake up in my bed. My heart is racing I touch my lips ever so lightly. It was nothing that had ever happened before. I am unsure what to do or how to feel but something isn't the same with me anymore. I'm, scared but at the same time I'm nervous and excited. Its like I have... Butterflies in my stumach floating around and tickling the insides of my stumach.
I can't wait to see Kayley again.
Gemstone - Mentioning because it has to do with Kayley
