WAR MACHINE
"Think "Iron Man", but more badass."
Info
James R. Rhodes. Lieutenant Colonel. Hero. War Machine. The man that pilots the War Machine armor is a Marine pilot who has done several tours in multiple war zones. Being one of the few men that Tony Stark trusts completely, Rhodes has access to some of the most powerful, and high tech gear available. A crafty businessman, a true Patriot, and a complete badass, Rhodes is the total package.
Friends
War Machine has worked alongside many different iterations of The Avengers, as such he has a long list of friends. The more prominent members are as follows:
Tony Stark, IRON MAN: The two met not to long after Tony managed to escape captivity in the very first Iron Man armor. Fighting through insurgents and terrorists, they managed to make it back to the states together, where Tony offered him a job. Rhodes took over for a while as Iron Man, where he proved how capable he was. After Tony's return, he created a suit specifically for the Lt. Colonel, dubbed, "War Machine".
Steve Rogers, CAPTAIN AMERICA: They met back when Rhodes took over as Iron Man. They kept things distance for a bit, but once Rhodes revealed the truth, the two bonded as only military men can do. Captain America has earned Rhodey's full trust.
Carol Danvers, CAPTAIN MARVEL: These two have worked side by side for a long time. After awhile, the two heroes got together. Through the good and the bad, no matter how things got, Rhodes knew he could call on Carol if, or when, things go sideways.
Enemies
The Mandarin: Even though the Mandarin is one of Tony's more prominent enemies, the two have battled several times. Because of their clashes, Rhodes has a dislike against anything magic.
Norman Osborn: Rhodey still harbors some resentment of Norman when he tried to use pieces of Stark Tech and called himself the Iron Patriot.
Ultron: As a big bad against the Avengers, Rhodes has clashed with the machine known as Ultron on several occasions.

Other
To tie into Iron Man 3, Rhodes was given a version of the Iron Patriot armor, but that version also gave him access to Iron Patriot drones.
Has been a cyborg, then had his memories and personality put into a cloned body.
One of the more absurd things that Rhodes has done, was use a satellite that Stark had built in secrecy to use a massive suit of armor to fight off an alien invasion.
