Info
Jake Jenning, known as the New Jersey based vigilante, Nevermore, is classified as a Neo-Human, with the power to summon flames from a hell-like plane to enhance any inanimate object he touches, granted to him after cheating on a deal with a devil. To those sifting chest-deep into the realm of urban legend and conspiracy theory, Nevermore is directly tied to and referenced in what has become known as The “Jersey Devil Incident,” where the hero lost complete control of his powers and tore a hole straight to hell itself, right in the center of Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. Demons, devils, and all manner of evil monsters poured out of the portal, raising a literal hell on earth, until Jake and his brother, Jason, were able to close the portal off and banish all those that came out of it back to where they came from, though at the ultimate cost of Jason's life.
The event has been covered up by the government as a “domestic terrorist attack upon a major university campus”, and those who claimed to see the event for what it was have been brushed aside by psychologists as simply suffering from a “group hallucination” effect, where mass hysteria and panic caused swaths of people to believe they saw something that was never actually there. Nevermore vanished the day the demon portal opened, so further investigations were slipped away in an unresolved case file for years, though it has become the subject of several theories regarding Neo-Human incidents and the government's attempts to keep them swept under the rug prior to the appearance of the vagrants of other dimensions.

Nevermore has the tendency to draw trouble to him, as demons and devils can sense his location when he uses his powers for an extended period of time, and attempt to kill him, drag him down to hell, or a combination of the two when they get a lock on him. He's a good fit for most vigilante stories, as well as occult or supernatural themed adventures, and works well in partnered or team-up situations. Jake is also a member of the hidden online network for Neo-Humans, known as the Neo-Net, to keep in contact with other powered people like him and stay in touch with the troubles that have been plaguing the world regarding not just Neos, but the new Vagrants that have been popping up out of nowhere as well.

Jake & Holly
Holly is not out as a neohuman, nor does she really do the vigilante type deal, but if neo-net has a way of locating other neos, then I'm all up for a him trying to contact her thread. There's also the fact that she works at a cafe type place in NYC, so it's not that long a jaunt for him...maybe for coffee, but there are always ways for the two to meet. Holly can't really drive...or ride the bus...or take a taxi. She'd probably end up killing the battery, but I'm sure we could find something.

I'm totally for this, especially to expand the concept of the Neo-Net community! I'd assume Holly would have found the website as a means of figuring out more about herself and why she can do the things she can do, and Jake is a very encouraging sort who would want to help her out. If they had been chatting back and forth online and decided this would be their first meeting, I think he would make the trek out to say hi, despite the risk factor involved. As you said, NYC is too close not to pay a visit.
Would there be a specific goal or end-game you'd like to see come out of this thread that would help Holly's character or story development progress? Or something bigger that occurs during the course of their coffee "date"?

Jake and Holly
See here in lies the kink. Holly can't chat online. She can't touch technology, so I'm not sure how she'd discover the neo-net even existed, let alone used it to chat with someone.

I might have misinterpreted this sentence then. What do you propose, then? Unless it's some sort of action sequence or rescue, I'd rather not just have "Character A meets Character B out of random circumstance and they just talk" thread. Those get real boring real quick, you know? Jake would take the $10 trainride to meet a friend - not so much just randomly play around in the city.

I've got an idea!!!^^ *dances excitedly* I was thinking we could mess about with the supernatural side of things.^^ Perhaps Imp bunks down in a place that has a few nasty things dwelling in it,and the poor kid manages to stir them up,and Nevermore manages to find out and steps in to help? What do you think?^^

I'd like to get doom involved in some of the supernatural elements on this site, and I also know you are sort of the pioneer in that realm given your character and some of the threads you've been involved in. Would like to see if you'd like to do a Nevermore / Doom team up as I see this as something I'd like to explore more, especially the hellscapes you've posted about. Nevermore

DOOM - Oh wow! Thank you for reading my work! I'd be willing to work with you on a magic story, totally. Do you have a concept on mind for how Doom gets involved in demon stuff?

I see doom being interested in investigating some of the powerful occurrences of the supernatural to ascertain the threat posed not only to the world, but to Latveria, as much as he is a villain, he would be acting in a more 'heroic' manner to defend the world / latveria against those that would do it harm, if only for his own reasons. The way I've interpreted your posts, and forgive me if I've done so mistakenly, is that this particular reality is a bit more susceptible to demons crossing into the real world of their own volition. He'd be interested in not only finding out the cause of this, but what defenses this world has to combat such intrusions if any. I would defer to you on how that could be figured out since this seems to be your field moreso than anyone else. My initial idea would have had him investigate a particularly powerful intrusion in Nevermores. and the two would sort of 'team-up' to address it. I'd also volunteer doom for anything you'd like to explore with a vagrant sorcerer. Nevermore
