Zatanna had finally become famous enough that she was starting to book shows outside of New York. This was a huge relief as she wasn’t used to staying in one place for long. Sure she was always in Sun City, helping those people who needed it. Yet she missed the big wide world, and the thought of exploring this one got even more exciting. So after peacefull leaving the New York circus and promising to make appearances every once in a while, the beautiful Zatanna Zatanna was on her way to Atlanta, Georgia. The magician had been their before back on her world, it was a pretty interesting place, but she wasn’t sure what to expect during this trip. It wasn’t long before her and her small crew of 4 made their way to the hotel. Each had their own room and Zatanna had the best hotel room in the house. It was a nice king sized bed, king sized bath and everything about it screamed luxurious. She was quite glad to be back in the show life once again. The girl had five hours until she had to be on stage for her first show, so it was time to relax and take a deep breath before showing the Atlanta folks some good old magic. So the dark haired Mistress, made her way to the bathroom and started up the shower. One thing about flying was that it was awful stressing to the body, so a nice hot shower would do the trick. Behind the hotel, in the shadow of the building stood a man, he was about six foot two inches with dark brown hair and sunglasses covering his almond colored eyes. He was someone the town had only heard myth of, yet he was someone to be feared. Standing across from him was three women. One had bright green eyes with red hair, the one in the middle had Blue eyes and red hair, and the third, had brown eyes and red hair. The only difference between the three women was their hair. They were all five foot five inches tall, they had slender body appearance and faces that seemed to be that of mischievousness. The four spoke quietly, each looking just as shady as the shade they were standing in. Yet within seconds it seemed to be that the three woman disappeared, leaving the man to walk out of the shadows and step into a black car and vanishing down the street. Once the mistress of magic had finished her shower she looked at herself in the mirror. It was the same reflection she had seen so many times, but she was a bit more lonelier. She had met dick the one time and hadn’t seen him since. She was on her own and while she didn’t mind she hated the idea of not having anyone around, she couldn’t call up Dianah and go shopping, she couldn’t bug Bruce about his brooding. She was pretty much on her own in the crazy place. Her train of thought however was interrupted when she heard a nock on her door. Wrapping the towel around her body she walked out of the room and opened the door. As soon as the door opened, Zatanna was blasted backwards. She slammed back into the table and slid to the floor. Looking up she saw them, three sirens, one with blue eyes, one with green, and one with brown eyes. The girls each floated in, they were covered head to toe with fire. Zatanna looked over at the sink. “Retaw!” The girl called out and the water from the sink burst to life and covered the three. A sizzling was heard before the blue eyed siren spoke out. “Silly witch, we wont go out that easy!” With that said they screamed at Zatanna and covered the girl in fire. Zatanna on the other hand called out another spell “Dliehs Em” With that the girl was covered in a shield. It was time to stop playing, it was time to get to work. “Krow Sehtols!” And with that said the girl covered in a puff of smoke, once it cleared she was in her work clothes.

Just as the tension in the room reached a boiling point, it was unceremoniously interrupted by slow, methodical clapping, not unlike the claps heard from a crowd at a golf game. Behind the women, standing in the doorway they had just entered from, was a disheveled looking man in an old tan trench coat. His tie was hanging loosely to the side as if he had made only the smallest of efforts to even pretend that he looked presentable. His dress slacks and white shirt were wrinkled as if he had slept in them. A cigarette hung out of his mouth, smoke curling into the air despite the no smoking sign behind him in the hall. “Thought you could use a friendly face luv, but instead you are stuck with my mug. Caught the show by the way. Brilliant as ever. Falling into the arsecrack of the universe and landing wherever the hell we are has not made you lose a step Zee. But I have to say, your friends seem a bit wild. Not like you to run with the rough and rowdy crowd. That’s more my speed if I remember.”
Stepping into the room, head cocked to one side the man looked at the women who had just tried to set Zatanna ablaze and shook his head. “You know there is something to be said for three beauts such a yourselves entering the room of another attractive bird. Some of me favorite movies start that way. But you lost me with the attempted incineration of the girl in the towel. That just took this whole thing in a far less tantalizing direction. So what do you say you lot walk on out of here and we forget about this little misstep yeah? Otherwise, I might have to get a bit miffed. Seeing as the start attraction here is a close personal friend of mine.”
Whatever was happening, Constantine did not appear to have much of a plan. He was merely standing there, repeating the same slow clapping gesture, without making any move to defend himself. In fact, with the small talk being made with Zatanna, barely acknowledging that the three women were standing there, it seemed as though he was not taking them seriously at all. Zatanna Zatara

Hey, pay attention to me! I'm fascinating. Zatanna heard clapping from her door and she was indeed glad that she had changed her towel back into her work clothes. As the voice spoke she tried hard to remember who it was. It sounded like John Constantine. She knew very little about the man, she knew he worked with the Justice League at times back where she lived, but she never met the man, even during her time with the team. She wasn't able to actually look at the man due to the three flaming women standing in front of her. "John Constantine, I didn't know we were close and personal. I barely now you. Aside from the small things I heard about you from the Justice League." She spoke as she tried to figure out a way to take down these flaming jerks. " Wolb dniw dloc Wolb dniw dloc Wolb dniw dloc!" With that said the window broke and a huge blast of cool air pushed at the flames and they flickered a bit but never went out. Again they laughed at her and this time threw fire at both the man and the woman. One of the Flame Demons turned to John and spit fire out. "Stay out of this English man! it's between us and the witch. Tonight she is done!" With that, the fire demon laughed and turned to its sisters. "Let's finish this place." The trio started to burn the apartment with the hottest fire known to man. As Zatanna moved out of the way of the fire, she was finally able to get a good look at the man in her room. He was indeed tall, blonde, and handsom, yet he was also very mysterious. His blonde hair seemed to fall in a messy way and his eyes, they were something special. They had many emotions to them and one of them was dangerous. Something had kicked in the woman, she knew it full and well that she had become attracted to this dangerous man.

Constantine nearly pouted when Zatanna failed to recognize him. Bloody hell, he thought. I know I was new to game back then, but there were some things I know I was good at. Not likely to not leave an impression...Then it dawned on him. This was Zatanna alright, just not the Zee he knew. Pride still intact, he smiled at her and said, "You heard all good things from the capes and tights crowd I am sure. Believe it or not, we know each other quite well where I come from. We ditch the sisters scorch here and I'd be more than willing to get reacquainted, if you catch my drift."
Before he could really get a response, one of the fire demons turned, spitting a stream of flame at him. Ready for the attack, he thrust out his arm, a coin in hand. The pentacle upon it glowed briefly before exploding outwards in a blue-white shield that blocked the flame from ever touching him. "What is it with bloody fire breathing blokes and the flame based humor? She's done? What's next, you going to declare me medium rare? I swear, whoever the wanker is writing the dialogue for you hell-fiends needs to be canned. Notice if you will how I didn't go with fired. It's the subtleties of language that count."
With that, John pulled a flask from his coat, unscrewed the top, and threw the Holy Water within in an arc, hoping to strike each of the demons. Zatanna Zatara

Hey, pay attention to me! I'm fascinating. Zatanna watched the man, he spoke about knowing her in another world and well she believed that. She was quite famous in her world, who was to say she wasn't in any other world. She gave a small smirk as the man spoke about reacquainting and she knew she was in for a hell of a night. other then the demon whiches from hell that is. She was indeed glad when the man was able to find the weakness to the harpies. Zatanna, herself felt just a bit idiotic not to have thought about holy water, yet she didn't really carry that kind of stuff around, and she wasn't able to make it herself. The harpies, screeched in pain as the water struck them, causing them to fall back. With this Zatanna took the distraction to poof up next to the man. "Now that's some water works." The woman let out a smirk. The harpies themselves scuffled and huffed. they seemed to be regaining their strength. "So handsome can you make more of that holy water? I can make the water, Just need it blessed." the girl asked trying to come up with an idea to take out the beasts altogether. one of the harpies looked at Constantine with the biggest angriest looks. "You stupid son of a B****" she yelled at the man and flew towards him in all her fire covered body. You could clearly see a scar marking from the holy water. Zatanna without thinking quickly took to her magic tricks. "Part eseht snomed ni kcirb!" Soon the wall that was the outside of the building started to deconstruct and reform around the three harpies. The brick even covered the top and the bottom of the three women. "That might hold em for a bit." The girl said with a small smile.

John returned the smirk as the fabric of the building and reality itself bent to Zatanna's will. It was a move worthy of the Zatanna he knew, one of those spells that required more energy and effort than she made it look, one she always tried to drive into him but that he never really paid attention to. Sure he could blame it on being young, on being lazy and looking for easy way of doing things, or on the fact that he had been more focused on other things his Zee was teaching him but he knew the truth. He had made a career out of being a Jack-Of-All-Trades, Master of None. Living up to his full potential, embracing the full scope of what he could be, and possibly joining the ranks of his ancestors as one of the most powerful sorcerer's alive was just...well exhausting to think about. Besides, he had enough problems, enough enemies being the “half-assed practitioner” that he'd been called by more than one acquaintance. Already have the attention of The First of the Fallen and that's without being a full on, wannabe Merlin. Doing the whole scholarly wizard thing just isn't my bag. he thought. “Nicely done luv. Now, you say you can bring on the water? Good. Have at it and I'll get give it proper blessing. Might be enough to get even these unclean heathens scrubbed down.”
Reaching into his coat John produced an ancient looking rosary and held it before him, the cross swaying slightly and it and the beads took on a soft, blue-white glow. “Anytime you're ready make with the splish splash,” Constantine told Zatana as he began reciting the incantation to bless whatever water Zee could get going. “Exorcizo te, creatura aquae. In nomine dei patris omnipotentis et in virtute spiritus sancti.”
He paused only long enough to withdraw a small packet of salt from his pocket, likely taken from some fast food place or another, careful to ignore the look he knew his Zatana would be giving him for using such cobbled together elements. Zatanna Zatara

Hey, pay attention to me! I'm fascinating. “ Zatanna nodded as he agreed to the plan. Zatanna ran to the hole in the wall and took a deep breath "Retaw ot em." She would start off as the water in the pool made its way out of the pool and up to the floor that the two and the creaturs were on. She held it in a ball hovering over the harpies, as John spoke the incantation Zatanna listened. His voice was pure magic to her ears. She loved herself a man who could speak like that. It wasn't until he pulled out the salt from what seemed to be a... FAST FOOD, that she gave him a look. While she didn't know the man, she did expect someone of his nature to have a bit more decency when it came to his tools. The look faded as he finished and she was able to drop the water ball on the harpies, after a few moments of screaming in pain they had gone back to where ever it was they came. Zatanna took a sigh of relief. She then raised both her hands, as she did she spoke. " Nruter eht moor ot sti remrof yrolg" The objects in the room began moving around and began looking like it had before the damages. Once everything was done Zatanna looked at the man. She wondered if she would need to wear her work clothes anymore tonight. While she loved the costume, she also loved her relaxing clothes. She thought a moment and decided that she could change, "Egnahc Sehtolc" With that she was surrounded in a puff of smoke, once it was gone she was dressed in silk shorts and a matching tank top. "So John we have A LOT to talk about." the girl spoke as she sat down on the couch. ”

John watched as Zatanna magically whammied the room back into order. When she was done nobody would have been the wiser that there had just been a tussle between two magicians and a group of mythological monsters, let alone that there should have been water damage. “Useful little incantation there luv. Being only a petty dabbler myself I've never bothered learning the fine tuned points of the craft. All seemed a bit too much like work to me. 'Sides, we both know I'm far better at making a mess than I am cleaning one up. Probably would have left an even bigger mess, like that old Mickey Mouse cartoon with the mops and buckets and such, had I tried that me own self.”
Leaning against the door frame, he fumbled through his coat in search of his lighter. Finding it and a half-empty pack of cigarettes he lit one up, taking a slow drag without a care in the world, as if they hadn't just been in a life or death fight. “Right you are pet, we need to have a wee chat,” he said finally. Truth was he knew this Zatanna was not his Zatanna. The woman he had learned much from, and not just magic, was a little older. One look at this world's Zatanna told him she was not as jaded as the one he had known, that hint of anger and bitterness setting in for many reasons including a falling out with the Big Bad Bat and more than one incident involving John himself. Their on again off again occasionally suicidal (largely because Zee had just cause to want to see bodily harm come to him) relationship didn't seem to be a factor with this Zatanna. It was kind of uplifting in a sense, almost enough to make him smile, but not quite. This was Zatanna has he preferred remembering her: confident, strong, and able to have her smile not be forced. Largely because she hasn't been subjected to you yet, he thought bitterly. “This where you go and screw up this version's life too John old boy? Sounds 'bout right. That's what you do isn't it? You waltz in uninvited, make people think yer a good person, a righteous man just tryin' to make the world a little safer from the things that bump in the night, and then when they are good and hooked you leave them out to dry! Throw 'em to the wolves when its convenient! Let the old Reaper get his hooks into 'em while you skate by on the skin of yer teeth with not but a sly comment and another mark already in mind!” one of the countless ghosts that tended to follow him around said. Knowing he was the only one that could see the specter he chose not to address it, partially out of not wanting to seem crazy and partially because he knew it wasn't wrong. He was many things. A gambler, a conman, a mage of some repute, and the man who could see the big picture and make choices others couldn't or wouldn't. But he was not a good guy. He knew that, but that didn't mean he liked being reminded of it. “Smart bird like you already knows that the you I know isn't you if you take my meaning. So maybe we should discuss this over a pint yeah? Might get a bit heavy and the imbibing of many alcoholic beverages may be just the thing to muddle through the trickiness that is interdimensional travel. Join me?”

Hey, pay attention to me! I'm fascinating. “ The dark-haired woman watched him, she could tell that he knew that she knew what was going on and that was a good sign. He then asked if they could do it over drinks and she nodded. "Though I think it is a good idea we stay in and talk about this. As this is not a conversation you want the humans of this world to over here. How do you take your drinks? You seem like the ice cold whiskey type?" She asked curiously. As she had really never met the man before so she knew nothing about him. Except that he dabbled in the magical and supernatural arts and had made a mess of himself sometimes. Someone that the League never really liked to talk about. "I myself prefer wine. It's like a congratulations party in every bottle." She smiled and with some words, a bottle of whiskey and wine showed up on the table along with a wine glass for her and a glass for his that also contained one ball of ice in it. "You are very correct, I actually have no idea who you really are. I know your name is John Constantine you probably put my father and the league in some tough spots. Where I'm from we didn't have a past, so I'm sure you know way more about me in a way that I do you and that is simply not fair John." She smirked a bit as she poured herself a glass of wine. "I guess first thing is, what is your story if you don't mind me asking? I find you rather interesting and not to mention very handsome, so I'm guessing you and I had lots of fun in your timeline?" Zatanna was indeed interested in this man, if she was going to figure out how to get home, perhaps he was the guy to help her. Plus if he knew about the bigger powers of Shadow Crest perhaps he could teach her a thing or two about the house that dragged her here and created a whole city out of nothing. ”
